Official 320 Dancer Thread

Thanks Blueeyeboatr. There is definitely something wrong with that GFI. Its tripped but wont reset. Going to change out the outlet itself.

Now the next chin scratcher. Was out this weekend and went to open the engine hatch and.....nothing. Didn't even make a sound as if it wanted to open. The radio was on, lights down in the cabin and a bunch of the other 12v accessories. When I get back to the dock and hook up the shore power it starts working. I admit I did not try it with the engines running. Not sure if its a battery issue or not?? I have noticed that the starboard engine appears to be tied to the house batteries because when I start that motor, any 12v accessory turns off. Wondering if there is some kind of correlation there.

Was the transom door in back closed? That stops it from working. Has to be open.

Seriously?!?! It was definitely closed because the dog kept trying to launch himself off the boat.

I was trying to think why in the hell it needs to be open and then.....light bulb! I guess ripping off the transom door is not something you want to have happen when you need to open the hatch cuz I can assure you, I would be the guy to do it. Thanks skolbe!

I am looking for a secondary anchor for the back of the boat to hold me steady in our winds. I am curious as to if anyone here uses one and if so, what do you use. What is the best kind? Most of our bottoms here are muddy not sandy. I would appreciate any feedback you may have.

Another question. I'm having some service work done and it looks like my fiberglass exhaust elbows are cracked at the point the turn down. I thought at one point I read an article about this being a problem and ways to repair and replacement parts. Has anyone seen this or had the same problem? I have a 320 SD with 5.7L MAG Horizons.

I use a coated vinyl danforth anchor. It works fine. Plus the coating allows me to store it under the rear seat and not scratch everything up.

Thanks skolbe. I'll give that anchor a look. Makes sense that it's coated so it can be stored easy. Thanks for the input

I have the 6.2s and I have a very small leak in the same spot on one of the elbows.

A couple of questions…. I will be attempting to remove the radio this weekend to install a bluetooth adapter in the auxiliary inputs. Is the radio supported from the back and if it is, how do I get behind the radio?

For those of you who have not installed a camper top, have you done anything for additional shade? I was thinking somehow mounting an umbrella and I was looking for some ideas or suggestions.

Thanks

Mike

On my boat, all you had to do was unscrew the panel that all the breakers are mounted on. That gives you access to the area you need without having to remove the radio. On my clarion there was a rubber banded connector for the aux port, which we connected the RCA (left/right) connectors for the headphone jack to RCA jack adapter. Plugged the BT reciever into the new headphone jack, and good to go.

What spare parts do you guys keep on board? I am looking to put together a spare parts kit and thought you all could offer some good insight. My 329 has 6.2's. I figured at least one serpentine belt....

That looks easy enough. I plan on using a powered adapter so it will be easy to pick up 12 volts from the panel. Thank you.

Finally got a few pictures of my new canvas. Have screen panels I can swap out for the rear five and also the front center. Added a Fifertext sun shade for heat/sun in the front. Love the no supports in the back. Just floats there.

Wow, that's spectacular!! I hate to ask, but can you give me a ball park (PM me if you want) of how much it cost and how long it took to fabricate?

Thanks
Barry

I don't keep a ton of spares on the boat, mostly stuff that is easy to change -

Serpentine belt
IAC
Fuel filters (a couple of the spin ons and one inline - your boat may or may not have the inline filter)
A couple of the relays that sit on top of the motor (had one go bad in the past)
Shower bilge pump and switch
Light bulbs
Fuses
Snaps and studs for the canvas
Genset impellor

I think that is it. I do keep a fairly complete set of tools onboard, including a good wire repair kit with various marine grade splices.

That's a beautiful top. Gotta love the kids too!

Lovely camper back. I am considering something the same. Was this a custom job and who did it. What did it cost ( plus/minus $100)

It was right about $5,800 with tax and all the extras.

lonh weekend of projects. Tore the bolsters out in the main berth and replaced it with an 8" memory foam...what a difference. Still continued to clean after the roof collapse last month. And updated the model graphic...looks more modern.
