5.7l EFI. Alpha 1 out drive
I just bought my boat and the dealership ran it for me then removed the water drain plugs. I want to put them back in but I'm not sure of the exact location. I know one goes in each side of the block each manifold and one in the front. What is the best way to locate the holes, because going to the dealer is not really an option it's 3 hours away. It has the 5.7EFI

Look in your manual or have a look see yourself or put the gardenhose and muffs to it and look for the big leaks. Sounds like you already have an idea where they go.

Looks like you have accounted for five plugs. Do you have an Alpha drive? If so, the sixth plug is located lower port side (slightly aft and below the plug for the block) forward side of the fuel cooler. Also, the block plug on the starboard side will be located on the knock sensor.

Must be a busy day, nobody has responded to you. As I understand there are six blue plugs. I just replaced mine but its going below freezing the next couple of nights so I plan to wait to start the engine. I am here in Decatur, Al and its below avg temps for now. There is a plug on each side of the of the engine block just above the oil pan gasket, near the center(front to back) of the engine. There is a plug just below each exhaust manifold at the low drain point in the hosing there. There is a drain plug at the low point in the water pump hose on the front lower right corner of the engine. All locations on boats are described as port and starboard, left and right, from the stern looking forward. So looking at the engine your orientation in standard convention is the opposite. I guess you already know that...confusing. The 6th plug is at the underside of the "Cool Fuel" heat exchanger, on the left/port side. That one is also the most difficult to replace. You will have to remove the black plastic "COOL FUEL" cover, which is easily but gently pulled off. I bought some extra plugs, 5 to a pack, go figure, and most likely you will drop the plug on your initial try. The first two tries I dropped the plug and could not find where one went under the engine. But i have extras. There you have it. Three on the right side and three on the left. We have the same boat. I bought mine this past year in October. It was manufactured at the Tellico Plant in E. TN. I have fixed a few things on the trailer, replaced the horn using an Attwood brand. It has a mellow and not too loud a sound but you don't want to jolt your upfront passengers with anything louder. Right now I am trying to get the wiper circuit to work. The motor was burned out, have one on order. There is no voltage or apparent operation of the wiper relay in the electronic interface module below the dash on the fire wall. So I don't know if it is the wiper switch on the dash push button panel or the eim relay. What i have in mind is to get a 3 position marine grade toggle switch, mount underneath somewhere with a 5amp fuse and feed off the 12v source. The reason for the three position sw is the new motor is a two speed, so I get that benefit if i rewire it my self. Somebody on ebay has a new module listed for two hundred bucks but I don't know its not the switch, yet. But I think that concern is now moot with the two speed opportunity. I would still need an external sw. Keep me up on how you're doing with your boat. I've got a few scratches to fix and one good ding on my platform extension but its not too bad. Waiting on the weather. scoutatroo
