Anyone going? I haven't been to the Baltimore show in a couple years, but remember it being smaller than the indoor one they used to have in DC. I tried the one out at the Dulles Expo center 2 years ago and left dissapointed. Cant remember how the Baltimore one rates in comparsion.

I may go next Sunday just to help ease my winter boating withdrawl.

What's the show like, I've never been

We'll you will most likely leave disappointed from the Balt show too. There was only one year when I really enjoyed it and that was at its peak when they had a 420 sun dancer there. I went last year and took the kids, it was the smallest I can remember. That being said there are boats there and it helps get me in a boating mood. Even convinced the wife to go this year. So we will be down on Saturday. You can get discount tickets from BoatUS online and plus the kids are free. We really are going down to eat at the Harbor as we have not been there in a while! I miss the free parking! I like the vendors and booths we get ideas for cruises. Plus it is a short ride down for us. Don't go expecting to see much if anything over 35 feet. Lots of jet skis.

I was thinking of driving up. Is it worth the trip?

Nope..........I go every year with the same buddy and we both say we won't be back next year, but we go anyway. Tom hit the nail on the head when he said you will disappointed.

It may be smaller then in previous years but it helps keep us in the mood for spring and all the boat projects. Something about the smell of new fiberglass.(-:

This is the 60th year of the show. I have not missed many shows since my first in the Sixties.
Mom and Dad took me when I was a small kid to the Baltimore armory boat show. The Boats were wooden and for me as a small kid, they were huge. I guess that's when I got the boating fever.
Even thou I have been disappointed in the last few shows, I'll still go.

Better to see white fiberglass then white snow.

We are planning to attend Sun. I haven't been impressed in the show for a few years now, but still go to see the latest gadgets and whatever boats that are on display. Always nice to grab a beer and meal at one of the eateries around the harbor too.

I have gone for the last 5 years and have left each time saying I will not return. That being said, I am planning on going Sat. and I will enjoy being around boats ( especially nice with snow on the ground) and meeting new people passionate about boating. I was hoping the Baltimore yacht club had a booth so I could meet some of their members -- I thought one year they did. Hope to meet some CSR members.
enjoy the show!

I'm going tomorrow afternoon, scarf down a couple brews, take a lap around the convention center then go eat somewhere.

Rich, I've been a member at BYC for 5 years and they have not had a booth since I've been there. The subject did not come up at the last membership meeting either. Hey, if you want to meet some members, take a tour of the facility, etc. hack4alivin and/or myself can arrange it.

Absolutely we could arrange an introduction to the club. If you are interested PM either John or myself and we can set something up. Currently the club is closed for the month of January but reopens the first week of February, so the bar will be open on weekends. There are some activities planned as well for February and March, I just got an email notice of a “Land Cruise” in early March…… Bar hopping to several local Yacht Clubs. It’s a cool wait of meeting fellow boaters as well.

I'm headed there today. Its small but its still a chance to be around boats when its cold
outside.

Going to head down there today in a few minutes! Four adults and 3 children our party alone just doubled the attendance! Hoping to drive the sales folks crazy with the two boys. Then get a big meal. I'm crazy what the heck am I thinking? At least the kids are free!

Well the show was fun. But not for looking at boats as the largest was a 336 Regal. It was nice enough, little tight in the cabin. Had the master in the aft cabin. What was suprising was the bow thruster on the 28 Regal that was there. The 336 had one too.

What was interesting was talking to the used boat brokers around their selection of used yachts. Talked to Clarks Landing and Baltimore Boating Center both very nice folks that were super interested in selling!!!

Also was fun to pick up the trinkets from the vendors. Got some free stuff from Georgetown Yacht Basin. Their Transient rates are down to $1.25/ft... Wow will have to plan a trip up there this summer to the Sassafras. Also they now have a beach below the pool with some paddle boards.

It was fun going in a group walked around the harbor and there was an ice flow across the upper harbor. Got to eat at the Cheesecake Factory with no wait, the 21 degree temps helped with that I'm sure.

Come on Spring!!!
