1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic City

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

How can there be an argument about right of way, esp from a "captain." You either have it or ya don't...right?

You had a gorgeous day for a 150 mile boatride!

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Sleep well Rick, you deserve it! I calculated my mileage Approximately as follows: 150 miles by car & cab; 5,130 miles by airplane and the most enjoyable 195 miles or so round trip on Mustang. The only bad part of the trip was the long flight delay returning home.

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Technically it was not Right of Way (that only applies on certain Inland Waters)
I was the Stand-On Vessel.
He was the Give-Way Vessel.
He didn't seem to want to Give-Way.
He had to take evasive action at the last minute and then wanted to get crappy about it.

I was operating as the Stand-On Vessel under Rule 15 (Crossing Situation) and was prepared to invoke Rule 2 (Deviation from the Rules) when he finally changed course.

Glad you saw fit to join our little get together. It was good meeting you. Hope you can make the next one.

Rick and Ron... Great Job! Ken and Dale we'll see you and the Admirals hopefully next year. Dale you might want to go in the Sun occasionally... those Pasty White Legs !!! Great hanging out with the BSHCA Crew. Bob Gale, Jimmy, Kenny, Bob, John, Scott, Jeff and Al, their Admirals and especially spending some time with Linda! Meeting Rusty and the SR people was great unfortunately they were hanging at the Big Boat Dock!! We are definitely doing next year because I won't have another Water Pump Casualty... only 2 Engines and they've both been replaced coming home from 2 AC trips!!

I'm gonna need a diagram, to scale, of course, to render my decision ;-)

You'd expect more from a professional. Did you resort to Rule 69 and let the expletives fly?

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Nope.

I am looking for the "How To Report An Inspected Passenger Carrying Vessel With A Captain Holding a 100 Ton Master's License Complaint Form" on the USCG web site.

I had the exact same experience just off Barnagat Light except mine was with a 24' Grady. The guy did not answer a VHF hail so I gave him 5 blasts on the horn. He turned away and then came at me again. 5 more toots and he did a 180 heading back to the dock to change his shorts and read up on the ROR.

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

I think if I gave somebody 5blasts of my horn they couldn't hear the embarrising tut ig there ear was on it...

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Look, this is a boating forum, not a place to critique my chicken legs.

We had a geat time... I will post picture as soon as we upload them... We have a great under way pic of Dale and crew on the Mustang under the Barnegat light house on his way out the inlet... We happened to be coming in when he was leaving. Thanks to Ron and Rick for putting a great event...

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Dale, trying to figure out why were you going OUT Barnegat Inlet??

Re: 1st Annual Dominic Annunziata Memorial Rendezvous -Farley State Marina, Atlantic

Where the hell are all the pictures? and videos? I don't think this event even happened.

I'm going on the NE trip with the other guys.

The pictures are on this laptop slowly making their way to a place where they can be uploaded. They have to be resized before they are small enough for this site.

And PLEASE go on the NE cruise. They would LOVE to have your humor along with them for 10 days.

And don't forget to print your boating operations manual (also know as the Invasion of Block Island War Plans)
