Abacos or Bust

I've never been searched in person. I wondered if they actually did physical searches. Bet that was nail biting watching them go thru your stuff.
More annoying. It wasn't nail biting as I knew there was nothing on the boat nor had their been. About 2 years ago I got stopped offshore and the USCG 20YO was leaning on the M60 while it was pointed at the boat. I'm off the firm belief that CPB has too much power..

Yea bad chioce of words by me. Annoying is the better discriptive word.

Although, I had a police officer find a "concealed weapon" in the storage compartment of my Vette once. It was a knife, old worn out knife, but a knife. He was going to arrest me, but a highway officer talked him out of it. Not sure why but he did.

"I came back from GTC non-stop last Friday and got pounded from the West End to Port Everglades. Second roughest water I've been in.
Got back to the house and called with my LBO's. 20 minutes later 5 armed guys and a narc dog from CBP went through every nook and cranny of the boat. Odd.
Great trip though."

We came in Ft Pierce then directly up the ICW to Merritt Island and then called in our BR numbers late that evening. Phone rang for a couple of minutes and no one ever picked up. Called back the next morning and cleared in through the Miami office (that is where the call was picked up) - no issues whatsoever. Also let the officer know that we didn't / couldn't file a float plan because we couldn't access the USCG site. He said no problem it's an issue even with the USCG folks that also are SVRS registered and that they are working to get the site fixed. Don't hold your breath.....

Float plan SVRS site worked fine for me, although they do have some issues I was able to file and when I checked back in at WPB via phone call they used the float plan, gave me a clearance number and that was it. Took about 5 minutes or so.

I still just call customs from the boat, get a clearance number, and then report to the __ _____ (can't remember the name)international executive airport (small airport) on the way home, just north of Stuart/St Lucie. Never busy and takes like an extra 30mins of my time. LBO might be easy, but heck so is going to the airport.

That's usually the case with me.

I am waiting for them to tell me, ok report to customs/immigration at whatever airport but didn't realize they may actually show up with armed guards, guess I just didn't think about it but makes sense.
Me neither. I think it is over the top BS. I was about 5 minutes away getting a newspaper and in that time they bullied my 15YO daughter to let them on the boat with the dog. Again, nothing to hide but it is still my house.
