460 DA Owners Thread

460 WEIGHT.
I had boat hauled out last Tues. weight at lift 34,000 lbs. Friends 2000 460 weight at lift 31,000 lbs.Do you know the weight of your boat?

I don't but I will when they haul me. Also do know the variables? Fuel, gear water etc? 34k does not sound out of whack. Also how is he equiped? Hard top? Lift? She is 28k new, dry, no gear, lift or hard top.

Has any one changed the motor zincs? If so what tool did you use to get the third outside zinc on the port motor? I can get to it by sitting on the thruster batteries but I cant get an open end or socket with a ratchet on it and turn it without hitting the exhaust. ideas?

Hi to the 460 guys, Graham I was hoping you could send me the TV install photos as well: barlow@inet.net.nz
Curious to know how much of a mission it was to run the cables etc, did you run under the floor or in the ceiling...?
I was also concerned about the available space between the wall mount and the shower cabinet.

Russ-I have changed the zincs and, if I remember correctly, I used a swivel head socket from Sears called a Dog Bone. Good luck!

Holy smokes Russ! What do you carry on-board? Gold? Bodies? You are making me NOT even want to find out how much Carpe Diem weighs. :)

I know it! I don't get it, unless the guy operating the brand new travel lift didn't understand how to use his gauges. He said the rear was 20k and the front strap 17k which I thought was odd that the rear strap was only 3k less. And how can you tell if some of the weight is shared? I calculated liquid and dry weight to 31,580lbs without gear- performance seems ok? I emailed SR to see if they had thoughts.

Does anyone happen to know the bulb # for the rear facing white running light on an '03?

I forgot to pull it and get the bulb # before leaving the boat this weekend.

Thanks

I just had my boat pulled for bottom job and underwater lights. The weight...."38,000"... I have a hard top and TNT lift. It was with full fuel and half water. Thought this would make you feel better Russ. It also ran 33 mph with 20+ mph winds.

Russ,
I'm pretty sure I used an SAE socket to change the zinc anodes on the aftercooler. I would try a 1" socket.

Russ, are the thru hull scuppers on you boat the same as mine? also my windshield wipper washer system not working is there a separate pump?

I'm not sure what you mean, scuppers? All cockpit water drains into the bilge and the bilge pumps out through a central drain and single hole in the hull next to the port exhaust.
Yes there is a washer pump under the salon floor next to sump. Put your head in there and look up at the bottom of the floor, it's mounted upside down. Simple pump, take it apart and clean it. It will probably do the trick.

Hi Guys

I was always under the impression that any water in the Cockpit drains out through drains that are under the Transom locker door, the water makes its way to the outlets by going under the rear sun lounger.

Whenever I have washed down the teak cockpit floor, that is where the water escapes, not through the bilges, but please correct me if I am wrong!

Glad to now know where the washer pump is located, working at the moment, but bound to stop one day.

Graham
