Atlantic City 2012 Cruise

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had any good tips on a good spot to anchor for the show? If you haven't seen it, here is the map:

Should we consider going out east of the no boat zone or can we? We are planning to be down by around noonish and see maybe the last hour or two from an anchor spot in the ocean. Also, for those who don't know, 95.7FM will broadcast the show.

Last time we went we were just east of the no boat zone. Seemed like a good location and I'll be there again this year. Weather looks better in the am than pm but thunderbirds are at 3.

Well thanks to Marshall we had a great ride down in the ocean to AC (it was our first long ride in the ocean). It was a pleasure meeting you Rod as well! We wish we had more time to spend at the Marina with you all but this weekend turned out to be exactly what my wife and I needed. A few days away to enjoy some adult fun with a bunch of our friends who drove down.

For those interested, we went from the Metedeconk River (western edge) to AC by way of Barnegate Inlet, ocean and Absecon inlet in 3hrs and 10 min with an average speed of 18.2 knots (and pee break just outside AC thanks to the girls). :)

The ride back took us through the inside route in 3hrs and 35 min with an average speed of 15.5 knots back to our dock at Brennan's.

For those interested in some reviews:

-Carmines - dinner was great fun with a crew of 6 people and the food was not bad
-The Old Homestead - Awesome steakhouse in Borgata. Food was great except the lobster
Mac and cheese was not good at all.
-Ivan Kane's Royal Jelly Burlesque Club - Great place. The burlesque dancing was
phenomenal with a live jazz band and a live rock band in separate parts of the night.
-The pool at the Borgata was disappointing.
-The new casino Revel was nice but not my cup of tea. I still prefer Borgata. Revel was a
little too modern for me. The place was pretty big but seemed small at the same
time. Where borgata is probably smaller but has a larger feeling to it with more to do.

Finally, has anyone ever got a photo from boat pix.com? They flew past us around LEI on the inside route and I thought it would be pretty beat to have a photo of the boat this way!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend! Thanks again to Marshall for looking out for us to AC!

Mike it was Our Pleasure to renew old "Boat Friends"!! We had a blast with the BSHCA Crew!! Gary the Piers still have Weeds and the new owners have not done any upgrades on the Docks!! Still a great time was had by all!! We came home on the outside and we had some things loosen up. Like a piece of Trim above the front of the Salon between the Overhead and the top of the Mirror!! The Galley Sink Faucet mounting let loose and the Mirror in the Head that has a Velcro Screw Type mounting at the bottom was banging the whole trip. We'll send an email and letter to Sea Ray Customer Service ( with Pictures) and see what they say. The Boat is only 4 years old and the sea's were not that bad (2-3's)!!

Oy Vey!

The funniest part were the old guys parting across from us... They were drunk as skunks, singing 80's songs, and Irish Beer drinking songs... There was a NY Giants DE hanging with the old guys, don't remember his name, I am a Eagles Fan... One guy was wearing the crown like the King of England with no shirt... They were very loud and not very good singers. Fortunately for boat directly across from them, they ended or moved the party before we all turned in. We one about $50 in the casino, with covered my gas to get out to the ocean... It was a nice time and boat ran great. Now if the gas prices would only go down...

Did you run aground anywhere during this trip? ;-)

Almost... I down to 4 feet of water more than a mile out from the Little Egg inlet... It is much worse than than the last time I passed that inlet. You have to stay out 2 miles to get past the shoaling. To answer your question, no, we did not run around this time... I was a very nice ocean trip both ways. On the way home, the Barnegat Bay was a zoo, much worse than the ocean
