Before I buy one of those aircraft carrier sized dock boxes, anyone have any creative rod storage solutions on a 290 Amberjack? The mid-berth is only about 5.5 ft wide.

Thanks

No room in the engine room?

Engine room is an option but I am a bit concerned about constant heat on the rods, reels and mono.

Looks like I'll take em on and off for now.

Thanks

I have a set of these in the ER of my 280DA. The rods fit well and it holds them nicely. I'm not a hardcore fisherman, but haven't noticed any issues with the rods or the mono being affected by the heat. I've had them on one full season (2011).

I keep a little 6 foot setup in the mid berth for piddling around the dock, channel, etc. You may have space for a roof rack in the cabin if you dont have a lot of traffic down thee. All my good stuff goes home with me. Engine room will give you a humidity/drying/condensation thing that will lay a hurt on your line and reels.

I have not been able to find any solution to mount rods in the cabin. I am thinking on making some sort of verticle holder that I could simply sit on the floor next to the steps, but have not found a good solution as of yet.
