310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

Are there any 310 owners that are able to post pictures of their full camper enclosures?

Thanks!

I don't think anyone here has actually done the camper canvas... searay310.209 may have done a photo shop mock up picture though.

Searay310.209...any mock up pictures for viewing?

Thanks!

I am in the process of doing mine now. Should be done in a week or 2. I will post pictures when it is completed.

Sorry just noticed that you asked about a 2009. Mine is a 98.

Okay, I've got a few Issues... not "World Impacting" but issues just the same!
1) When I turn on the the Clarion Multi-function "Boom Box" I get terrible static and whistles on AM!! Forget about FM (all the Spanish Stations come in clear)... Please don't take Offense but I don't Habla Espanol!!
2) The boat came with a built in Electric Grill next to the Aft Sink!!!! The last time I used it it kept shutting off, right in the middle of cooking Tube Steaks (which really pissed me off)!

I do not have a separate AM/FM antennae just what came with the Boat!!
The grill has an inline Breaker.... on my panel there's a Breaker for Aux. on the AC panel and DC panel.... is this what energizes the Grill????
Thanks in Advance,

Thanks in Advance,

I have the same grill. Aux AC breaker is what turns it on.

I don't have a problem with mine. But it draws a ton of power, so don't run AC/microwave/cooktop at the same time. It has a ground fault interrupter (GFI breaker) in the plug, if I remember so don't get the plug wet.

With those tips, mine works great. One cooking tip, put an inch of water in the drip pan and it won't smoke and grease up the boat as much.

Thanks for responding - haven't been on the site for awhile so sorry it took me some time to respond. How did you switch out the power cords? Most of the new thinner tv's have a completely different power system. I've removed the LG, but the cord extends down behind the bulkhead and looks like most of the padded trim has to come of to get to the power source.

Is there enough room for the end of the cord to be pulled through? You might be able to tape the new cord to the end of the old one, and just pull it all the way back, so the new cord is now in place.

If not, it's also possible to cut the end off, then put a new end on once you pull it back through.

Yes, there is room to pull the cord through...no need to remove any vinyl trim. The TV receptacle is located behind the control panel. The Vizio TV cord is permanently attached which makes getting the cord through the bulkhead awkward, but no problem with a second person lending a hand. I purchased a 3' HDMI extension cable and 3' USB extension cable since those ports are located on the back of the TV.

Thanks rock32311 - this has been very helpful. BTW - we're on Catawba as well. Hope to see you around the islands.

Hi all, I am considering a 07 310da with 313 hrs and new risers and manifolds. I was originally looking for a boat with about 200 hrs. How much should I be concerned about the extra 100 hours?

I have had the boat surveyed and and sea trialed and all looks normal for a 07.

Clearing water system antifreeze.

Does anyone know of an easy way to clear the water system of the foul smelling pink antifreeze? I've run the sinks for a while and refilled the fresh water tank twice. Still getting this sulfury smell from the water coming out of the sinks. Is there a drain where the tank can be emptied?

That does not sound like the smell of pink antifreeze... you might try a cup of Clorox with the next fill-up.

Yes. A few more tips: after adding the bleach to the water tank, pull and clean the water filter (it is on one side of the water pump, just unscrew, pull screen and clean it out). After that, run each tap for a bit until you smell chlorine (including head and stern shower if you have one). Make sure to run hot water side also so everything gets the chlorine.

Let stand for at least 3 hours. Overnight is good.

Open taps, run tank dry, fill tank. Repeat 3 times. You should be good.

Unless you have high sulfur or manganese in your local water. Then it will always smell like **** when heated.

Re: Clearing water system antifreeze.

Rich - do you know if there is access to the water tank other than the deck fill? The tank is behind the engine room bulkhead and there doesn't appear to be any other way to drain than the faucets.

I haven't found another way to get at it, and actually asked the forum in a recent post and didn't get any answers.

Drawings place it somewhere around the mid-berth (like underneath it), but I haven't seen a way to get at it.

First, before killing yourself, take a clean cup of water from your slip hose (after running a while), stick it in the microwave for 30seconds or so, and smell it. This is to make sure the smell is actually your tank, and not just the town water. Lots of towns have smelly water (seems sulfur and dead fish (manganese) are the most popular).

If it is bacterial, the bleach will fix it.

Is the boat new-to-you from elsewhere? If so, and the local water doesn't stink, you may just have to fill and flush the tank a half dozen times to get rid of it. Open ALL the taps to flush all the lines.

Finally, you can try this or this (I've used this one) which will neutralize some chemical (source water) smells.

Re: Clearing water system antifreeze.

Thanks Rich,
I'll give the chlorine thing a try. We do share that same delicious Haverstraw Marina water though.

Re: Clearing water system antifreeze.

Oh, and don't forget to clean out the screens at the faucets. An incredible amount of gunk lives in there.

Re: Clearing water system antifreeze.

Yep! That was the problem. The water pump filter was disgusting. Drained the entire system. Cleaned out junk from all of the faucet screens. Dumped in a couple of cups of bleach. I'll let it simmer overnight. Thanks.
