Well my neighbor has had a searay for 5 years he blew the motor due to a cracked manifold so he traded for a new 2011 250 slx he took it out yesterday and it died coming into the ramp. Now it will not start he is not happy. Guess it is back to the dealer to see what is up.

On another note:

I am taking mine to marine max to get the seawater pump serviced ( 3 years on current pump). They quoted me about 300.00. Does this seem about right. Good thing is I made an appointment so taking it in on thursday nd getting it back Friday

Hope we wil bothl be back on the water next weekend!

Gotta love the weather in the south. It was 72 on Sat

Re seawater pump, they will change the impeller.

Pay $300 and have it done or buy Mercury impeller part 862232A 2 online for about $30/each and do it yourself. We can walk you thru it if DYI is of interest to you.

Re: Boat not running, give us some details. What did they try? Does the boat have fuel injection? Here is a question, if they take the boat out of gear (press the black button by the throttle) then move the throttle forward then crank the engine does it start?

Guess 300 is, not bad. I have the kit but do not feel like changing it myself. Also a, good time to let a pro look over the power plant I almost never take anything in for service I am the DIY type but getting lazy in my old age. Lol

On your impeller. My pump is hard to get to. I pay $300 for the impeller change and it is worth every penny!

On your buddies boat. Is there a kill switch on the throttle? Mine has one where one of the safety lanyard would connect. Does it start if you put in neutral and advance the throttle a little? is so then it could be the IAC (hope it wouldn't on new boat though).
