Eye surgery went very wrong

This is terrible! Hope all went well through the night. Any updates?

Interested in update as well. Pres likely signed something stating he understood the warnings/risk of the procedure. Detached retina appears to be warning in almost every eye procedure (even lasik).

I'm hoping they gave him something like valium to sedate him prior to the procedure and he just misunderstood what was going on. Unfortunately he is stressing over this (as any of us would). One of the lessons to learn here is you need to have someone with you during any time of procedure.

Pres,
Sorry to here of this doctor debotchery!! I hope you find a REAL doc and get the proper care that you deserve. Try and relax and do what you have to do.

Then sue the crap out of this quack!!

Man that sucks Pres. I am praying for you as I type. There has been a lot of advise for you so I won't add any. Just know that many are wishing you the best and praying for a positive recovery.

I sure hope they got someone to fix that eye for him and that is where he has been all day, and his next post is to let us know all is well.

Sorry not much to report.

This Thursday I see a retina specialist. Before this time the eye is too cloudy for them to see much.

For sure I will need another surgery but have no date at this time. Most likely they will do one of three things, put this implant where it should be, remove this implant and put in a different one, or remove this implant and not have an implant.

I should know more after Thursday.

You will be in my thoughts Pres. I wish you the best outcome possible!

Pres..
try contacting Dan Grossman in Bloomington In
he is probably THE eye expert anywhere
he developed nearly all of the laser surgury there is for eyes
I haven't talked to Danny for a few years but I am sure he is still directly involved in the Indiana Eye Hospital(which he started)
top in the country

Just reading this thread gives me the willies. Good luck. . and Gary is correct -> Write everything down. Hopefully, it won't be needed.

Doug, wishing you the best of luck!

My father-in-law is dealing with a recent issue where he lost an eye after cataract surgery due to infection. Your situation is much different in that you are a young wage earner and will most likely be able to prove surgical error. Your claim may be limited based on how much it interferes with your life. I'm hoping you have a full recovery and don't need to go down that route.
