Official 240 Sundancer Thread

My 2006 DA has access to the sender from the mid berth cabin; ope cap under matress.

Has anyone found a nice radar arch that can be fitted to our 240's?

I want to put one on but, not sure how a custom pipe style arch will look. I wonder if a ski boat tower would work, or a tower off a Amberjack would fit?

Just kicking it around.

Whoa, I'll have to check into that. That looks nice. I wonder will it fit over my bimini, probably not. Hmmmmm, maybe I'll have to steal the shape and have a custom one bent and installed! haha Of course it'll be modified by at least 10%.

Jack, I think I like the color on your boat. What does the "Hybrid" mean? You have electric motos in place of the gas hog?

That’s not my boat, The hybrid is a diesel with solar panels?? I was looking for an arch at one time and came across this.

My helm bench seat leaks stained water everytime I clean the boat. I think it comes from some wood that is used to support the bottom of the bench. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

I got my platform from them and had it installed mid-summer and LOVE it. Look through my album for some pics...

When I first got it, my brand new 2006 240 Sundancer did the same thing for about a year. Red watery liquid would drip out of it for days and make a big mess in the cockpit anytime it got wet. It sometimes looked as though a quart of blood had been poured on the floor.

After being ignored at first by the dealership, then sending the first poor dealership dealer pictures, and 2 wasted trips to them for repair, it was finally fixed no charge as a warranty item by a much better one. The good folks at the 2nd SeaRay location, Marine Max in Seabrook TX, did the job, correctly diagnosing it, and got it fixed under warranty by Sea Ray. They had to replace the entire fiberglass base/back structure of the seat. The original seat base was a red color on its inside fiberglass surfaces, as seen under the cushion. The new seat base was black on its inside surfaces- no red anywhere - and the outer surface that shows is the same identical white gel-coat finish as the original. Absolutely nothing but clear water ever drains out of it now.

This is exactly the problem!!!!! Everytime I wash the boat I end up with a pool of blood around the bench seat on the deck. Marine Max told me there was nothing they could do.

Well now you know what to tell them to look for! haha What a wonderful web site this is. Boaters helping boaters.

My seat never did any red leaking. I guess this is one thing that didn't happen to my boat! hahaha I got every other thing though.

Well, I sent MM the good news this morning so we will see how that works out. There are so many things that there are solutions for and you would hope the dealer would at least have a clue as to some of the problems you encounter. I guess if you own a Sea Ray its DYI boating; and of course all your good friends at Club Sea Ray.

I have almost the same boat except mine has the 5.7L and A/C. According to NADA, average retail runs roughly 35-42k so you are in the right ballpark. Your challenge in getting retail price is obviously the economy and the number of 240s selling below retail. One suggestion for your advertisement: remove some of the minor features to reduce the size of the list or simply highlight the more important ones. This makes it easy for someone to read through and understand the important features of your boat. For example, wiring (color coded) is not enticing to buyers. Buyers want to know the power package, electronics, whether it has A/C, generator, windlass, trailer, camper canvas, etc. Also, you may want to include more pictures of your actual boat as opposed to stock photos from the Sea Ray site. Your photos should highlight the excellent condition of the boat which can help support a retail price. Use recent photos that show the date on them if possible.

Hey guys Im selling my boat, was wondering what you think an 06 240 with 140 hours on it is worth, check my ad in craigslist and let me know what you think... Thanks guys

Im thinking about 38 or 37?

Hello all, on the 240's with the cafe seating. (2 seats on the port side, with swing out table).

Has anyone cut into the space under the swing out table, to see if there is a void that could be turned into storage?

I was wondering what is under there. Maybe even convert the table to loung type seating that the newer 240's have. For me the cafe seating is a great idea that never seems to get used like that.

Your craiglist add says you have a 5.0 Mercruiser with a Bravo 1 leg. But your engine details says you hve a Bravo 3 leg. Big difference. Would fix that in the craiglist add.

Sunava beach, I hope you get it. I'm not sure what the pricing should be. It seems to be all over the place. One thing for sure, when the price gets right someone will step up. Your boat is clean so that is a plus.

There is a 240 local to me that has been for sale for about the same as your asking price and did not get much attention. It still sits in the brokerage yard, aging.

I have wanted to step up to a larger boat also, and I have the ability to do so. BUT, I just can't/won't take the hit. SO....I've been dumping more money into my boat making it more of what I want. I guess I'll just keep it. Bigger is not always better. That's what I keep telling myself. haha

Good luck.
