So i recently purchased a 2005 320 and my biggest problem has been where to put a bbq. I have an extended bimini that has a support coming down right next to the rod holder. I've seen some people place their Q on the horizontal rail of the rear hatch. im not really a fan of that because of limiting my acces to the hatch as well as the proximity to my vinyl(melted seats anyone?) Anyonw have any ideas?

I have my Magma grill mounted in a rod holder on the aft port gunwale of the boat. I store my grilling accessories and propane bottles in the cabinet just under it. Works great for me.

I installed mine under the swimstep lid. It works great and I have not regretted it.

I mounted mine under the swimstep lid as well, and it works great!

You can also use the handrail on the transom locker with a small extension to hold your grill. I use the aft port gunwale with a rod holder i installed (actually 2), but if thats not an option for you, the handrail might be a good alternative.

Scott, that looks dangerous. Especially in any wind or waves, while on the hook. Where do you set stuff?

Mine is under the swim ladder lid too. It works well.

Come on Scott, join the posse and install it under the swimstep lid.

That is my plan too. Great work Todd, both on the job and all the great photos you've shared. MM

Thanks Mike. I try to document all my projects with pictures. It's good for other's or it may spawn other, better ideas. Sometimes it's hard to stop in between steps to take pictures.

Here is a pic of the grill mounted on my 360DA. I had it mounted in the same spot on my 300DA.

I also used the rod holder with the kettle grill, as usual everytime i would cook "someone had to squeeze by" so i upgraded to the cabo Magma grill and mounted on the hand rail on the transom locker , it is very very close to the seats and am trying to figure a way to extend it out or move somewhere else, I'm not crazy about using the swimplatform ladder because then the ladder is out of commission as you cook and let the grill cool down. How can i extend the mount on the grill now?

I've been using my Magma Newport in this location for a couple of years now with the rod holder mount attached to the rail. It raises it up and I've never had a single drop of hot grease hit my seats. (As a precaution I put a old towel down, and it stays clean) Oh, and my seats haven't melted yet :)

Here is a vote for the swimstep. This was our Magma before changing to the Solaire. After using the Solaire for a year, I'm no longer convinced it was such a big upgrade... just about the same performance as the Magma, except that the wind blows it out more often... you can see my bbq "toolbox" resting on the transom. Margaritas fit there too, as does a plate of about-to-be-grilled meat.
