We have a 2008 SeaRay 38DA with Mecury Smartcraft VesselView & Kohler 7.3kw Low CO gas generator. Some generator parameters such as freq, AC voltage, exit water temp read out on the Smartcraft display. A couple weeks ago the Smartcraft display indicated Onan and not Kohler when started, then displayed the generator parameters, soon after the display wasn't indicating anything, like when the generator is not running. The generator runs fine and the remote control/display works fine, the Smartcraft is working except for displaying the generator pararmeters. Anyone have this happen? Any ideas outside the usual loose connector, broken wire areas? The Kohler has a serial interface to the Smartcraft. I have contacted SR and Kohler but thought I would try the smart folks here at CSR. Have to wait until I get to the boat (papers) before I can submit question to Mecury Marine as they want my engine serial # which I don't have with me now, the site won't allow me to submit my question without a valid #.

Thanks

Mine was never connected to the Vessel View. I wish it were.

mawyat, was the final outcome of your genny display on your vessle view. Mine has never worked and I am assuming it was never hooked up. Did you have to run a new interface from the vessleview to the generator?

MarineMax came out and did something, I was not there so I don't know exactly what they did, but remember it being a termination connector, or something similar. A dock mate had a 2008 350DA and his Smartcraft VessleView did not have the proper firmware to support the generator. Since you have a 2009, try asking your dealer.
