OEM speakers are 40 watts,

Hinge on the locker? Why relocate? Music not being heard, I was going with the MB Quartz marine its German engineering and sounds crystal clear and fantastic when paired with ANY speakers even better with their marine speakers. A buddy got them new off eBay for a deal, the amp was like 100-140 http://www.mbquart.com/marineaudio_main.html

I was blown away! The reason I'm not doing this year, because I'm moving up to a bigger boat

i have used those spealers problem is when going fast the driver cant hear music as loud as others in boat...maybe a safety feature but...i hate not hearing my music:(. in my old boat used those speakers amazing/

has anyone did some mods or found a good idea for the cooler... because i found the original one too small so i took offf the rail assembly locates in the storage area and adapted it to fit a bigger cooler but now the problem is that once the cooler is inside i cant fully open the top and to take it off i have to bring it up 90 degrees and then take it off ... when the cooler is gonna be full of ice and beer i guess it wont be an easy job

I have bought the replacement to it that's much more efficient but it doesn't fit by like 2" all the way around. I'm thinking about just going to a soft sided cooler that can slide in and out. But I'll put a floor in the middle of the track. Not sure about the sides.

If anyone has an idea PLEASE post it LOL

Walmart now sells dry ice. You can pick up 7 lbs for about $6. It's about 1.5"x 5"x7". It fits in the bottom if the cooler and doesn't take up much space. Makes for a little more room and no water to deal with. Not a bigger cooler but smarter use of the one we have. Also will last at least 24 hours.

hello i'm experiencing trouble with my bimini top that is always doing clicking and ratling sound also i lose 1 of the plastic finish that goes inside the bimini anchor (where the round end of the bimini legs is fixed with the little safety pin) would like to know if i can order just this little plastic lip or if i have to order the complete stainless anchor.

Also for the bimini sound i'm thinking its due to the fact that the 2 rear legs have the possibility to be in 2 position , which i just don't understand why, but the fact that those two legs have the possibility of moving make them move just a little bit and that's where the sound is coming from
help or advice would be very appreciated

also my Mercury SmartCraft Depth Transducer Kit seems like its defect i would like to know if someone ever had similar issue with their transducer giving reads like always 4foot depth and 130 degrees sea temp. is there possibility to test this unit before buying a new one or could there be misconnection

You may need to have it reset to factory specs and then have parts of the information turned back on. My smart craft came with everything turned on and most of the turned on stuff was not connected to sensors since I did not have everything it could read. Speed, Sea Water Temp, Air Temp, Fuel consumption, Engine temp, depth, gallon per hr, trim indicator, you don't need the oil temp, there is no sensor for that on 5.0 MPI that year, I don't know about later years.

Best regards

Anyone tried changing the oil? Dumb questions, but is it that much harder than a car? It seems like it would be.

Theres 2 way to change the oil if its on a trailer the best way is to use the drain plug attached to the end of the drain plug on the transom the other way is to use a pump connected to the tube where you check the oil with the yellow gauge

I have not changed the oil yet, but am now due as I just passed the break in period.
Changing the oil using the pump (leaving boat in water) sounds almost too easy to be true. There must be a catch/gotcha somewhere - please fill me in!
hmmm - for the pump to work right do I need to drain into a container lower than the engine maybe? That would mean I'd have to put said container in the bilge - kinda cramped down there?

My initial plan was to have the mechanic at my boat yard do the oil change, but they guys in this video make it seem so easy.
Is it really that easy?

When I bought the boat, I thought the dealer said to not worry about changing oil till end of season. However I just hit 30 hours on the engine, and manual says to change oil after 1st 20 hours so I'm already overdue. The engine has not burned a noticeable amount of oil during the break in - dip stick level looks fine.

I never changed the oil on my car myself, as climbing under to drain is more headache inducing to me than shelling out $30.
However boat oil change will probably cost more - and if I don't have to climb under anything...

Does someone know how to tune the sanipotie toilet because when i drain mine with the pump out at the marina theres always like 1 inch of liquid left in the holding tank ... I just want to know if its the same for everyone

Mine is the same about one inch of fluid in the bottom, we try to add water a couple of times during the pump out procedure. If all the liquid were sucked out you could get into an issue with drying toilet paper or solids. We have replaced the stock toilet with a newer 5 gallon toilet, lots more capacity.

That was what i thought about too but my girl told me it was already a bit trickuy to get there so that puting the toiler A couple of inch higher wouldnt be a good idea so i was wonderind if there was an adjustment on this tube that goes inside the waste tank so that i could keep only like half an inch of liquid ???

A question on head storage. I don't see this request or mod anywhere so thought I've give it a go here. We bought our 220 thinking my family, all women, would use the head. It was a must have. They don't use it, actually get a kick out of going commando on an island.

We use it for storage ALOT, but it's largely just a big pile of stuff every time we go out. Anyone have good ideas on shelving or some kind of unit to put in here to better utilize this space?

Does someone ever took off the head to waste it somewhere because i usually take the pum out at the marina but because of irene hurricane my marina is now closed because the deck are all broken so i would beed to waste it somewhere else and i don,t want to have pee all over the carpet

No other marina around with a pump out available? I would get yourself a nice 5 gallon bucket. That way you won't soil the carpet.

Jim,

what toilet did you purchase? Do you have any pic's? The 220 may not have the headroom that the 240's do, so it may not be an option for me.
