Has anyone of you guys had any trouble with water getting in the lower step inside the cabin??? I dont know whats causing this my engine compartment is always dry mostly but never gets the water the cabin does?? Confused have to vac it out always..

check your sump pump. It is under the step. Pull out the garbage and look.

My marina would sh** if I had that installed. Do you have a vid of yourself underway at full throttle?
 
I will get a video soon of it cruising, Ill just say this it is a little too loud while cruising but just hit the switch and its back to silent , as far as top speed have not tested it yet but as soon as I do I will let you know, whoops about the ladder I pulled it down to check something in the harbor and never put it up
 
Ha Ha Yep thats why I did it, wanted to be different, I have not seen any 240's with exhaust :wink:, Im still trying to find a name for her, do any of you have some measurements for the back of the boat like letter width and height etc? Thanks Oh yeah I think I am naming it "Filthy Oar" :lol:
 
Hello all, I added a swim platform to my 240da. I also put on the Sea Dek non-slip, I think it came out nice. Not sure what the platform is off of, I think maybe a 240sd. Here are some pics.

I almost named mine "Dirty Oar". Nice add.
As far as measurements for the lettering I'll have to check, it's been a few years since I did mine.

Hi, I had the same issue. Water was coming in from one of my trip tabs which was knocked by a forklift when they took it out of the water, The water pools where it does because it is the lowest point on the boat. have some one check the seals....
 
Just wanted to let everyone know I took the 240 to Lake Travis (Austin, TX) for the first time. I have been around the lake a hundred times but never on a boat. So for the people that know about the lake the natural place to go is Devils Cove. Wow it was great, the weather was iffy but the boats were out in force, I could only imagine what a nice weekend and or a holiday would be like. Everyone rafted their boats together, except us as I was unsure of the proper way to go about this? One boat had some extra special eye candy, about five females who turned their two piece bikini's into 1-piece, and stayed that way the whole time. Anyways good first trip and I reccomend making a stop there if you are ever on the lake!
 
This is my first post...recently purchased a 1996 240 and am loving it!

I'd like to install a built-in tackle box on the starboard side of the cockpit (in similar location as the standard locker on the port side). Is there a mess of wiring and/or control cables in there that will prevent me from doing that?

What a disaster this weekend... Has anyone upgraded there porta potti? I have the porta potti with the pump out... It started to leak for some reason so I decided to get a 970MSD. The connections are completely in a different place. I can't even see how this will work. But when I look on the seaway website the 2010-2011 come with this new model toilet.. there has to be a way to make it work in my 07. I just don't want a million elbows to get it to the mount properly because the "pump out" will never work.
 
Just wanted to update you guys, took the boat out for the weekend with the new exhaust and the boat actually did pick up a few mph on the top end but when it is wide open it is louder than a mo fo ha :lol:
 
HI All,

Looking at getting a 2006 240 Sundancer. Already put a deposit down. Are there things I should be looking for that that particular year had issues with. It has the base 5.0 Merc engine with 140 hours on it. Comes with Trailer. Does not have AC/heat. Has everything else. Working on financing right now and should have a surveyor looking at it End of next week. But thought I ask this knowledgable crowd if there is anything in particular I should be looking at.
