Thanks quint4 that sounds like the best option. I'll Definately use the closet space

Thanks BBC. Glad you mentioned that. I'm 3 hours away from my boat. I couldn't remember what the old ones at cockpit seat height were. I will buy some 6.5s to fill those holes. Now I'll have a extra set of components to place somewhere else.

Glad I have several fish tapes in the toolbox

I've got all the wiring ordered today. Ill be picking it up Friday

Do you know what size the holes are in the arch behind the acces plates? And what exactly were those intended for? To access the bolts for the grab handle??

FWIW:

I fished-taped down my Sirius antenna cable from the arch. Going up should be easier. Going up though the speaker holes should be much easier then down though the arch lights.

Behind my arch access panel is the marine radio antenna; perhaps it was for access to mount the antenna?

What is our 110v main braker rated at. 30 amp?????

Here's what I did this week, I had a Power Inverter given to me buy a friend that said he'd never use it. Time I got done buying all the stuff to install it, Wasn't so free anymore.

Funny thing about free stuff you get from buddy's. It normally involves getting your wallet out. Could be why it was free in the first place:smt043

Although we don’t take delivery of the boat for another month, my wife got this brilliant idea :smt021 that she would like to remove the rear corner seat and put in a wet bar. Has anyone done this? My thinking is by doing so it would complicate the removal of the engine hatch. Any ideas?

Not enough room in my opinion. Yes there is a hatch there that you will need to remove from time to time.

Started on the new floor today (using Allure). I got the steps done.

I got back the dinette and vee berth bolsters from the upholsterer. I am very pleased.

Dave, looks great! I just took mine out and have a shop ready to go. I am adding 2" of memory foam to top of mattress. How are you going to re-install bolsters without messing up fabric? I know you have a plan!! Did you have the shop put the screws in while he was reassembling? Let me know if you would. I was also thinking of Allure on the floor and constructing it to "float" without taking up the old carpet. Maybe using some glue/vlecro to keep it in place so the hatches (which I would put aluminum molding around would stay in place any thoughts? thanks Rob
p.s. where is the Vberth? Where did you get the fabric I love it? Any particular manufacturer/number?

Thanks for the compliments ! He is still working on vee berth cushions (it will be the same vinyl as dinette) I will put the screws in the seam of the bolsters with great care...for sure. I will use an awl to work fabric around the heads when they get close to penetrating. The vinyl is Seaquest "Dune" (ebay 14.99yd) and the bolster fabric was bought locally , no name on it (18.99yd). The Allure is heavy and I believe will stay put over the carpet with minimal securing. I just installed more in the dinette are (over the carpet). Here is a pic.

both looks good quint! Looks like good work for the money.

I went to the local Sea Ray dealer at lunch today to check out the latest in interior colors and I had an idea that instead of doing bolsters in fabric I thought about covering them in teak/like product. We don't have a lot of wood in the interior and I thought it would look rich. Has anyone done this or do you have any opinions?? I would screw or glue the wood to existing bolsters before or after securing them to boat and use cover the screw holes with dowels and stain. Open to thoughts positive or negative. thanks Rob??

Rob: I guess you forgot that I told you how to re-install those bolsters earlier. Anyhow, here is a repeat:

When I put them back in, I first ran a nail thru the original screw holes in the bolster backer board from the backside. I used the nail head as a guide to start the screws back in from the front side of the bolster. I ran them in just far enough to have the screw points sticking out the back. And then I set the piece up so that the screw points met the previously drilled screw holes. Just a little time consuming, but, you get them back to exactly where they originally were. Once that I set the screws in, I would back them out a little and use an awl to loosen up the fabric around the screw head. After you do this, you can run the screw back in and it will go “under” the fabric. If you don’t do this step, the screws will “bunch” the fabric at the screw head.
