Need to remove the sliding door on my 48 DB, does anyone have the removal process?

bad 3196!

thanks
Ken

No so great it sounds like? You have a motor you need to pull?

uh-oh....hopefully 'bad 3196' is to be taken in same light as "bad '69 Chevelle"

Yeah, it doesn't sound that way. Anyway it would be better as "bad '69 Z28". I sure miss mine!

Whatever you do, be careful removing that sliding door. If I remember correctly, someone (Gary maybe?) mentioned that door cost like $25k!!

That is very true and probably even more. The sliding aft door on a 46 Maxum was 28K.....not installed.

there are wheel adjusters on the door (top and bottom) - loose them and the door will have some play when moved up and down, unscrew track from bottom of the frame (you will need to slide door to left and right to reach all the screws) and move bottom of the door toward aft (together with track). door are heavy and you may need someone help to remove them. also put some drop cloths to prevent cockpit floor from scratches

Hello Jack,
2002 1100 hr 48 DB
Crusing @ 1900rpm lost rpm went to engine room to examine, oil was everywere. limped in on 1 engine spent 2 days cleaning mess and diagnosed oil blowing out of dipstick even at idle also oil pressure was low 18lbs cold and i believe i hear a knock in #6 cyl, removed cyl head top of pistons look ok, some minor scoring on cylinder walls.
Investigating this I discovered this engine has recieved 25K in warranty repairs, last being 150 hours ago.
Cat refuses to consider a possible damaged engine from previous warranty issues. Engine is still in boat, i intend to remove it and tear down to discover all damage (speculating broken / damaged rings from previous seawater intrusion from warranty issues and damaged #6 rod bearing damage also resulting from seawater intrusion). I'm SICK over this. Any opinion greaty appreciated.
