Replacement Perko Anchor Hatch latch:

The plastic is broken on mine (1997 330):smt089. Has anyone replaced theirs? I would like to put a stainless on in rather than replace the plastic that broke. If so where did you get it?

Mine broke too. I think I called Perko and there was a nice person there who helped me get the replacement part for it. This was years ago so I don't remember all the details. I'd start with them.

has any one replaced thier steering wheel?
now that I have replaced my dash, the faded wood grain on the steering wheel looks out of place.
I have been looking at stuff from great lakes skipper, but not sure what would fit? is it a 3/4 keyway?

If it is the same as my helm, the wood is real and the part that is faded is the polyurethane. Mine cracked and got moisture under it. IMO, the poly is way too thick for the application. I need to remove the wheel and sand it down to wood and re-apply a new finish.

If you have a real wood wheel, you are looking at roughly $500 to replace it with a similar wheel.

If you need to have it for the season, you can wrap it in 1/4 inch cotton line for the year and work on the wheel in the off season.

Just a thought.

I don't think they are real wood, but great lakes skipper has a bunch of nice ones, with wood like finish, also saw a few on aaa marine in ebay all about 90-120 so not too expensive

Hi Everyone,
New Sea Ray Owner here, purchased August 09, 98 330 Sundancer , 5.7's w/ v-drives, Westebeke 4.5kw genset. In the past 9 months of ownership I have pinpointed several things that needed to be addressed. I have read this thread from the very start, & to my delight just about every single thing I have wanted to be resolved has been addressed in this thread. Thank you very much for all the very useful information.

For anyone interested in remodeling your older 330 I've just started a thread in mods/customizations (link below) on the project I've just started. Sure hope this projects turns out like I see it in my head....if not I'm going to have one heck of a mess on my hands.

So far it looks great!!! Don't worry just use 2 million staples if you run into issues. If 1 million was enough the first time, 2 million has got to be better!!!!

That sounds like good advise... Once I get past the flooring, I'll start to worry about the carpeting. The cushions haven't been too bad thus far. My wife is good with the sewing machine, an I'm good with the planning and measuring. You're close enough to us that you may actually get to see the finished product in person. (just across the bay in Fairlee)

Sounds like you guys are talking about replacing instrument and switch panels...did I hear that right? Mine are fairly faded, but I have yet to find a source for new ones...any suggestions?

Still haven't tested the monster tabs! Getting itchy...new autopilot almost finished...new Garmin 742 color fishfinder/chartplotter installed and looks great!

Can't wait for the complete sea trial...

Scott from Vector Graphics would be my first choice for new panels. I believe I priced them out over the winter, but mechanical fixes took my panel money... Or should I say Scott's:smt021

www.vectorled.com

He has the patterns most likely already. He is very reasonable for the set (switches and gauges) He can also put in LED back lighting to replace the old lighting..

As for switches I've seen them on www.fpmarine.com if you need new ones. Me I am just putting in the old when I get around to doing this....

Yes,

I got my panels from scott, they are beautiful,
I did have to tweak the instrument panel a little, (i have the first run 95) and some of them were hand cut not fully to template. Scott told me that if i ran into any problems because of my adjustments, he would recut the panel (great guy who stands behind his work)
It was a time consuming job to move everything (took me about 8 hours for both panels)
they are such a nice improvement, The steering wheel stood out as shabby and
I ordered a new steering wheel from ebay found a nice Dino Wood grain for $40
I will post some before and after pictures once I finish installing the steering wheel, and replace the one gauge I broke when my vice grips slipped in trying to remove a stripped screw head from the stupid mapp holder :(

We just bought a 2009 330 and I am concerned about the cockpit dinner table. The one edge is very angled and sharp. I have walked into it several times and been bruised. Has anyone else had this problem? Would it be possible to saw the edge off? I was thinking about putting a pad on that corner.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

I would not recommend cutting it. It has a groove to catch spills. You would have to cut through the groove to round out the corner and not only would it look silly, but any spills would cascade right onto your carpet.

I don't get why you are walking into it. It is not in the way of egress. Perhaps a neurological exam is in order?

Off Broadway - how did you get a picture of my boat? LOL

JVII - I guess I bump into the corner when I slide into and out of the seat. I was thinking about just rounding the edge to take off that sharp point. I wasn't planning on going all the way to the groove.
Maybe I just need to get used to it and after a couple of bruises I will be extra careful!

I also have a question about the loud noise when I use the water. It's really loud when I run any of the faucets - so loud that my boat neighbors can hear it on their boats. The head maintenance guy said it is normal to have it that loud. Not sure if he is just telling me that so he doesn't have to look into it.

Is the water loud when you are connected to the dockside water supply, or when you are using your holding tank/water pump? If dockside water, then I wouldn't expect you'd hear much of anything. I do find the water pump makes a noise, but I've never considered it to be too loud.
