Hi, I am trying to find a water leak that keeps getting the mid cabin cusion wet. :smt013 The area is below the cock-pit area. Any one with this type boat and same problem? I do get standing water on the cock pit floor and have tried to caulk.
Thanks

John -

Is this rain water that we are seeing? I would start by removing the mid cabin's cushions, lay a dry towell down & flood the cockpit floor with a low presure water hose. I think this would help identify the location of the leak.

Where exactly is the cushion getting wet? (port, starboard, forward or aft). Does "below the cockpit area" mean directly below the helm? If so, remove the seat cushions from both the helm & aft facing seat. Make sure you allow water to flow down into the first "well" step & its drain.

How about the window in the mid cabin that faces the helm seat? Are you keeping it closed? Water from here could end up closer to the port side/center of the cushions. I'm going to start with the well step drain & more probably the under helm seat. That window would have to see a lot of rain, & if it was an onboard water problem you'd either hear the pump running or you''d have no water at any tap.

Keep us posted.

Hi, Yes below the helm. The top of the cusion (port side) is deteriorated from the water so its been leaking for a long time (This was noted in my Survey)
The gasket does come off the two seats ( helm @ Aft ) and water does collect. I have caulked this area multiple time.
The water will stand at my feet at the Helm I think its getting under the vertical base. (Don't know what you call it, below the steering wheel)
Thanks for the ideas

Is this rain water? From the boat being uncovered?

I am headed up to the boat tomorrow & I will surely look around for ideas. I'll be washing the cockpit floor so there will be plenty of water flowing.

This "vertical base". Is this where you have caulked? If this is where you suspect the problem to be, you can remove the access pannel in the head to get a good look at what is behind there.

I'd still flood the cockpit while looking at the helm seat & drain hole first. As they would be easier fixes. Flooding the floor could also emlinate possibility of the water comming from a higher point - the windshield, cabin window or the head window.

Had us said starboard side i would say that you have a leak in your heater core which in the mid/aft cabin starboard side.

I was going to suggest the heater as well as mine leaked in my 1997, but I guess that's not your problem. Good luck finding it John.
