And you missing a zinc that should be just behind the prop, coming down from the cavitation plate.

I am going to get the broken piece repaired, the zinc's replaced, a couple braided lines, rebuild my props etc. They will be like new come spring!:grin:

The anti-ventilation plate has a chunk missing out of it. I am going to have the marine fix it next month.

Limited experience here, but is it possible that is an Alpha upper with a Pre-Alpha lower?
I ask only because the trailing edge of the cavitation plate (the part thats missing a large segment) seems too rounded, compared to the Alpha's I'm familiar with.

Get some zincs on your trim rams also. There are two types of zincs for the anti-ventilation plate; a small fin and a flat zinc disk that fits in its place (thats the one I use). And as other have stated, Alpha I gen I is what they left the factory with.

The Merc manual gives all the clues to tell the difference. But not for one that has been divorced and remaried I don't think (drive not owner).
