There's not too many serious fishermen on the board, but I'm sure there's a lot of you that like to get a line tight every now and then.

So I decided to start a thread for us to share those experiences- at least pictures don't lie like us fishermen...

So please post 'em up. I'll start with this one... part of a day's catch of Red Snapper (and a Mahi that came up under the boat) caught 50 nm offshore in the GOM just before the season's close.

Wayne- let's see those salmon pics- awesome...

I bought my boat in the beginning of sept. I didnt get to fish too much. I'll be happy to post some pictures come the spring.

Happy Holidays to All.

Nice fish John!
Here'e a couple of 20" fluke from up north.
The minimun size was 21" so these guys went back in!

John, how do you find fishing with the fixed seat in the stern works out? How do you land a fish like that without being concerned about the vinyl, do you land on the swim platform? My new 2002 320 that I get to pick up next week has the same fixed seats and I was just wondering...

re: John landing that fish around all that vinyl.

That was my first thought too. Awesome fish though, actually, there are quite a few nice fish in these pics! Keep 'em coming! Makes me want to head out and try for some Lake trout/Salmon or even a Smallmouth/Largemouth Bass on my lake before it freezes up. Course, I'd have to go out with a diff. boat at this point, maybe my Dad's with his outboard.

My little grandson, Colin, needed a littler help with his Lake Erie Wallleye.

Guys,

You need to be careful. I sold that boat 2 1/2 years ago with scrapes/stains on the seats from that fish. New philosophy on the 340 - no blood/fish inside the cockpit, only on the swim platform, and then only if we're starving.

When we did serious fishing with that 250, I had a live well on the s.p. to starboard, a large cooler with ice tied on the middle of the s.p., and landed fish on the port side. If they needed a gaff, they went from the water to the cooler. After they quick kicking, I'd open it and remove the hook.

For a once-in-a-lifetime catch, it came right into the cockpit and we lived with the mess. Don't set them directly on the seats - they will leave permanent scars. Also, you will be finding blood stains under the seats for years.

I'll try this picture posting thing again.
Does catching a fish NEAR a Sea Ray Count?

Again, Not on a "SEA RAY" but close to one!!!

I'd like to do some fishing with my 280DA but it's not allowed. I tried to compromise by staying on the swim platform but was told that "fishing off the porch" wasn't allowed either.

WW, being from N. Wisconsin I understand the t-shirt. After enough generations what was once a geographical thing has become genetic:grin: but I have to save the beer for the end of the day. I'm the only one that runs the boat(no DD available). I'm also Mr Fixit and the lifeguard. When one of the grandkids falls in the water the admirals part is to scream "get her" and then Supergramps is required to jump in the water swimming with the endless energy of a 20yo and retrieve the kid and her favorite toy. Can't wait till next summer...5 months to go...better start working out so I'm ready.

Fishing is how I got started in boating. I don't do very much anymore, but still manage to get a line wet a few times a year. I do limit my activity to the swim platform now though.
