As said in other post, I am sealing the sliding windows and shall put elliptical portholes in the boat.
This is all I can cram into 10 min about the procedure.

Great work Heather,
Very helpful to a guy like me,
You don't mess around and get the job done, can't wait to see the windows you put in (size location etc).
regards
Jim

Thanks. I will finish glassing them in the morning. It will be a week or 2 before I get the portholes cut and in. Just stay tune. I should have part 2 done tomorrow night.

Thank you,I now feel so useless....lol ..KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK and video...love the animals too..life is good.

Wow! I'm jealous! You do fantastic work.
The slide windows on my 300 Sundancer pretty much stopped sliding. I don't want to get rid of them, but I'd like to get them working again.
I think the first step would be to take them out and clean them all up, then re-install them.
Do they really come out that easy? Is it just a matter of removing the screws on the outside and pushing them out?

Yes,,, It is... I would buy new weather striping from Taylor becasue it shrinks and will never go back in and fit right. But yes,,,,,,,,,, It is that easy. Get a piece of duct tape. Stick the screws on it in the order they come out. The upper ones are trimmed off after they were put in. So just keep them in order. Once they are loose get something soft to give some pry between the windows frame and the hull and it would help if some one inside would pop them with there palm to get the silicone between the hull and windows to pop loose and once the silicone starts to pull loose where you break the bond, they just come right on out. That's all.:smt038

PS,,, BTW,,,,,,on my 1982 270 Sundancer.............. In the lower bottom rear right, STBRD window " in the head" there were 2 nut backed bolts and were not screws. Just pull the wall paper back a inch from the window frame and have some one hold them with a 1/4th socket inside and run them out.......

Well I am almost done and just about have enough tape to make video-3. I am just waiting for my windows to be finished at the glass shop. Maybe next week end?

Looking forward to seeing video 3 - it's a nice looking boat.

Thanks Spookeay! I'm going to add this task to my things to do list. I dock my boat along a bulkhead, so I can even do it after it's back in the water if I want. I'll just be sure to gather all the supplies before I start the job, then I can plan to do one side one day, and the other another day.

No not yet, as a mater of fact I effectively took the month of February off. But it's warming back up enough to start working with paints, Gel Coats and Fiberglass so it's game on 2010... Stay tuned!

I think the cover is sliding off the 270...
Does it look like it's sliding off the 270 to you?
Hummm I may just need to go on and finish it up.
Maybe get it on the water before the
2010 Lake Martin Lions Club Poker Run..
OK Arm twisted.... Lets do do this!

Thanks. It's crazy season here at the shop right now. "Not much free time"

It's going to be weekends only for now but maybe Just maybe we can splash it in June/July. Not 100% done mind you, but, ya know.

Again, thanks for the complements, they keep me fired up and pushing onward.:smt038
