Looking for 2004+ SR 260 DA or similar

Boatless
Hi,
There are several features we are looking for in a pre-owned 240DA that I do not believe are standard so I though to ask what would be the dealer cost (when buying the boat 2nd hand) of installing these? I am a DIY guy but the boat will likely be shipped straight from the dealer to Europe so we need to have these installed at a dealer.

1. Anchor Roller - parts & labor
2. Spot Light - parts & labor
3. GPS - labor only (we would provide the GPS until to be mounted that has European maps we need) it would be a Garmin something.

Thanks!

GPS is simple - even with an external antenna, labor should be between 2 and 4 hours. This is absolutely a DIY thing.

Anchor roller? Unfortunately, this typically means getting rid of the bow light and adding a separate red and green light on either side of the boat, or a combo on top of the rail. Lot's of labor time to run those wires. The roller itself is pretty easy. Somewhere on this site is a good write up that someone did on installing a roller on a 240DA. I would guesstimate the roller, itself, to cost somewhere between $100-$200.

Recommendation: Pull the rope over the rail - try to keep the stress near a stanchion. As long as you're only pulling the rope over it, you won't do any damage. I've done this hundreds of times and it'll be fine.

Spotlight? Labor intensive as the boat is almost never pre-wired for the light. Again, lot's of time involved in running wires. Price? Again, just a guess - $500 for the light and switch.

Recommendation: Buy a $50 handheld spotlight.

On edit: Check out ram-mount for great mounting options, if you're not able to flush mount. We use these all the time and they are fabulous!

Now that I think about it Windlass would be better than a roller. Croatia is full of little inaccessible coves with very stone based beaches which are limited access for the boat thus requiring anchoring for almost every trip (and then swimming to the beach or using a dingy). Even with our much smaller boat we end up anchoring every day practically for beach access. As anchoring is important I presume it would be best to have a chain (or at least part) on the anchor which makes it difficult to pull (or damage) without a windlass or at least a roller.

Recommendation: Buy a $50 handheld spotlight.
Agreed, thanks!

Do we do a flush mount (do the 2003-2006 240DAs have space for this) or use the GPS holder that came with the GPS? I presume if flush mount then we cut out the plastic and use the Garmin adapter. The wiring (power) should all be below the steering console at the drivers seat?

Thanks!

Those 2 options can get expensive to install due to the labor.

When the boats are made, it is easy to lay in the needed wiring for both the spotlight and windlass before the deck cap is installed on the hull. You can't do it that way after the boat is finished. Some (most) of the interior acecess and trim panels must be removed to pull the wire runs to the front of the boat. Every dealer's cost structure and tecnical competence is different, so you'll need to get an installed price from your dealer.

I don't know what year your talking about but when I had my 240 (03) It had a factory bow roller so you should be able to get this part OEM. For the spotlight I installed a GoLight I think the model was Radioray 2000. This spotlight has a wireless remote so you only need to hook up a hot and a ground. $169.95 US. There should still be pictures of my install in the 240 Sundancer thread. To get a windlass installed I got a price from the dealer of $4000.00 Because of the anchor locker. The GPS depends on what model & if it requires a remote antenna or if it has one built in.
