of the stimulas ordered this weekend in the form of a couple of LSV's to use around the lakehouse. Federal credit of around $5K on each and the state of Oklahoma picks up 50% of the total cost. It just seems stupid but hey... I can let the government just take my money.. or I can let the government take my money and then send me an LSV back. :smt101 So list price of about $10K on each, add on some accessories upping the cost to around $12K, my net out of pocket is going to be about $1K on each of them.

That is incredible... I didnt feel like reading all of the regs. Does the tax credit only apply if these vehicles are used for business purposes? or does personal use apply as well?

Did it come with a free cell phone and health insurance?

I could have added a nice stereo system for half price (the state would have picked up that half) but darn.. I didn't think about the cell phone.. helath insurance I'm sure is right after the cash for refridgerators this fall.. :smt001

Personal use is fine.. that's what my accountant was suggesting to me, for use around the lakehouse. And there is no limit.. one guy bought 10 to use for his business. They are capping this at 250K units.. but I doubt they get to that # . (disclaimer... state contributions vary.. consult your own accountant)

Yes indeed! The lunatics are running the asylum.

as my accountant said 'if it seems totally illogical then you understand it perfectly'...

ok and it's not really part of the stimulas program but rather the Reinvestment Act.

Haha. You're welcome. Nice to see that my tax dollars are going for something useful for a change. Beats giving it out in food stamps redeemed at the liquor store.

You owe me a ride around that lake...

Ya know... I had to come back and edit this because this thread has proven one other thing to me. Obama is so inept, he's not even good at being a liberal. He is supposed to give to the poor and TAKE from the "rich". He's taking from everybody and giving to the "rich". You're rich, aren't ya' Larry?

Larry...which ones did you buy? Maybe I need to borrow a trailer and drive to Oklahoma. I had not heard to this.

Geez, I frikkin qualify for absolutely nothing the government is handing out no matter where I frikkin look.

WTF?

I need to quit paying bills, or claim hardship, or just quit working so I can start getting some freebies instead of just paying for everything.

I fell like a loser in this new economy.

Uh oh... Bill is a closet conservative. :smt038

Here's a good link to start you off with... :smt043

I have some conservative views, some liberal. Some right in the middle. Thus why I cant understand choosing a side, I guess!

Rush...I read both his books in the day years ago, used to listen to him and Bob Grant on talk radio 770. Frankly, he is an entertainer IMO, and not to be taken seriously most of the time. As well, he is just too pro-conservative. He just never seems to find fault no matter what happens in his chosen party.

Thanks for the link though, I forgot how handsome Rush is.

I bought the LX2 4x4's... added the extra rear seats, brush guard, trailer hitch, rear seat belts and an enclosure. Won't be able to pick one up right now I'm afraid. Looking at 6-8 weeks already on deliveries and I would bet other dealers are the same way in Oklahoma anyway.
