What a great experience!

I rented a transient slip at Shalimar Marina in Ft Walton Beach, FL this past weekend. The owners name is Paulette, and she is extremely helpful. I arrived a little late, and everyone had left the marina. I called Paulette on her cell, and she said that she could not remember the slip number for me, as it was written on her desk, and they had rented 19 that weekend. There were only 2 open, so I picked one at will. About 10:30p.m. I heard whistling from a 48' Hatteras. I was in their slip! I apologized several times, and moved to the only other open slip. The people were very nice, and understood what happened, and brushed it off.

Too often I think a lot of us come here to grouch, or look for answers to problems. I just wanted to take a moment to share my experience, talk about how nice the people around the marina were, and let anyone know that if they are traveling through the area, this would be a great place to stop!

Nope, not just you.

I trailered this time, due to time constraints. I have traveled by river and ICWW before to Destin, and stayed in Baytowne. That was also very nice.

We had a fantastic weekend as well. We took a group of boats to Chesapeake City and had a fantastic time. Made new friends while we there, partying on the dock and danced at the marina bar. Great staff at the Chesapeake Inn Marina, they really treated us well. We even met a fellow CSR member while there; “Chief” was there as well. Thanks for stopping by Craig. That is what the boating experience is supposed to be, FUN!
