Boat Info
360DA 2002, Raymarine C80, SR50 Weather, Radome, DSC, Baltik 9'6" with 6hp Tohatsu
Engines
8.1 Horizons w/V-Drives
This vessel is nearly new, with only 20 hours. It has the standard V-Drives with 8.1 Horizons, and lots of toys including C80/radar and a bowthruster.

Anyone here have any experience / comments on this setup and model year?

It is gorgeous, still under warranty, and damn near new. Seems like the right deal and the right time to move up.

Only my idea...

Why not look at a slightly older 360/380 or 410 with diesels?
Much more boat that you can really use to make longer cruises.
Or are you limited to 34ft because of storage?

Peter.

We have an '08, 8.1's. Black hull, no bow thruster. What in particular do you want to know? We love ours. There are, of course, little nits I would pick, but nothing that causes any kind of regret.

The 340DA has always been my Dream boat, since it was the 330DA 10+ years ago. I'd like mine with Diesels I believe, but those 8.1s seem to be the next best option.

Sounds like a really nice boat.
I'll vicariously live through you 340 owners until I can afford one of my own.

I would love to have a diesel boat, and am torn between an older, larger diesel, and this almost new gasser.

Lots of pros with almost new: (it's almost new..., under warranty, nothings worn out, and it has that new boat smell)

The same dealer has a 98 400 DA with 3116TA's, it too has lots of toys, including a bow thruster. It is priced about $30K less than the 2008 340 DA. (the 340 is priced at CAD$229, the 400 at CAD$189 - with exchange hovering around 1.22 CAD-USD).

The 400 has older electronics, older looking helm, older looking upholstery, white cabinets, and basically looks old compared to the 2008 340.

It sounds like many of you with larger boats (38+) are split into two camps - those that went up in 2 or 4 foot steps, and those that went up in 10 foot or larger steps. As my two children grow I imagine I'll be looking at a larger DA or DB.

At least it is a fun decision to struggle with...

dont do it until you see my boat i can make you a dam good deal. my boat was custom made and if searay made it i put it on my boat. i am telling dude. this boat is a head turner any were you go call me please901-292-1807

I knew these were available but have yet to hear of an actual one. I would love, love, LOVE to be able to find a 340 with 8.1's and B III's, but they are (in my experience) very rare. Just the thing for a boat that spends most of its time in the bay as opposed to the ocean. But for some reason there are none around where I live.

I have the boat on a lift which is one reason I selected the I/O's.

Agree with everyone. Bigger boat and cheaper price is tempting; however, it all comes down to the look, comfort, electronics, of "a" particular boat. I like the newer look (inside and out) of the more recent DA's compared to the versions in the 90's; however, that doesn't make me right. It's all about personal preferences and budget.

I can tell you the amenities and comfort (heat/air system, galley, etc.) are very comfortable for overnighting. We've taken ours about 200+ miles on one round-trip, weekend with no effort at all.

We always seem to get a lot of compliments on our boat...unless someone with a black hull 48DA is nearby:).

Beautiful boat. Price seems high, even with the exchange. It is a buyer's market.
