2007 Sundancer 440 for $299k

440DA Gas boat...limited market even at that price...

Yacht world - $400,000 - $520,000.

That's a typo to sucker you in, or that boat is trashed, or it has gassers, or we need to go out and buy it.

Edit: That is absolutely a beautiful boat. It does say gassers, as mentioned above by osd9 (posted same time). Wouldn't that be great if the repo people messed up and it was diesel?

Yes the boat is going to be sitting for a long time, First it has Gas Engines, second it's a repo,Third the econlmy sucks and soon boat dealers wil be giving 0% just to get rid of what they have.
That bank is telling others that there may be more restrictions, on Financing, plus you need 10% down....that's 30 grand and whoever has that money is hanging on to it.....Hmm i don't see this boat going very far very fast....Nice Boat in all, but...it's not a good economy....

If the price is $300K, and you have $30K in cash. . that translates into a $1780 monthly payment (20 year, 4.99%).

If you can afford the monthly coin. . the downpayment should be irrelevant. If you don't have the downpayment. . you probably don't have the money to fill the tanks either. Or payment for monthes 4-240.

I was not even aware that you could get gassers on a 44DA. However if you want to have a very nice condo on the water and don't put a lot of hours on the boat, the price is good.

Wonder what a boat like that would be worth in 20yr? If you flip this around and made these payments to yourself along with all the other cost incurred through the 20 years it really illustrates the extravagance of boat ownership.

I have a couple of friends who have purchased boats from Commonwealth. Due diligence is required, however, their boats are not junk. If I had the money, I would take a stab at it. Due to low sulphur, diesel per gallon is going to outpace gas per gallon for some time. Throw a couple of pro-chargers on the engines and the HP runs up to ~600 per side. The issue then becomes prop selection.

So make a lowball offer; nothing says they won't take less that the listed price. If it's accepted and you don't mind going out on the water only occasionally, or only to the nearest cove to anchor for the party, it makes sense for somebody.

has anyone made these guys an offer? boat could work for me, im on the ozarks in MO. wonder if you could go straight of B of A who repo'd the boat?

I have not made an offer to them....might be worth a shot to try going to B of A....but the company is probably out some expense with transporting the boat. I do know a guy who bought one of their boats last year. It was repo'd off of Table Rock...and came right back to Table Rock....the same driver who picked the boat to deliver to Commonwealth, brought the boat back. This boat was a 2001 or 2002 410DA with gas engines. I dont recall what they had it listed for, but he kept offering 150K...and they finally took the offer.

Where do you boat? LOTO? Table Rock?

Bingo. I cannot believe anybody would take out a 20 year loan on a boat (unless they paid it off in 5). My home Mortgage was only 15 years. At least a home has a _chance_ of appreciation, something a boat never has in most cases.

Given where this boat is, a fresh water lake, then Gassers might not be a bad thing for the original owner. Not everyone is offshore cruisers who need diesels, nor does every lake have diesel available. Nothing wrong with tailoring your boat to the area it is intended for use..

Will be interesting to see how boat prices are affected once the season starts and people get the itch..

I bought a repo boat from Commonwealth several years ago that turned out fine.

Regarding this boat, it appears to be on a small lake near Buford Georgia, so the gassers make some sense because the longest trip possible may be only 20 miles. Oil burners certainly wouldn’t be necessary under these conditions. I can remember seeing a 420 gasser about 5 years ago on a lake in PA that only had gas available at the marina.

As Frank said, there is a market for this boat, it’s just a very small one.

Looked at the boat this weekend and it is as advertised. Had some fiberglass work done to it on the starboard side above the water line, poorly done and definetly needs to be repaired correctly if you want a nice boat. Sitting out without a cover and needs some serious cleaning.
If your looking for a deal and want to put some work into a boat you could end up with a pretty good deal.
I think $250 would buy it.

Pro chargers. 600 HP. Tweak the props.

Damn. And I went and bought a 42DA with diesels.

Why, I bet you could pull a slalom skier AND a wakeboarder with a supercharged 420DA Gasser! Now that there is some manly skiing and wakeboarding!!

Gas 420 Lake Condo with superchargers.
Shoot. I don't care who you are. That there's funny. Git 'er Done!

I'm assuming your quip was directed at me. If so, have you ever been on a supercharged gasser boat? If so, perhaps I should e-mail Reggie Fountain and tell him his Verado sh!t is all FUBAR'd as well.
