I need a Glomex Antenna Amplifier if anyone has one they've removed. Looks like the pic below.
Thanks!

That's it - no one has any in stock other than one on Ebay. There are other amplifiers available however I'd have a hole in the cabinet where this one was. A cover plate isn't out of the question though.
This Glomex amplifier also switches between the shorepower cable and OTA antenna; We never use the shorepower cable so losing that feature isn't a killer.

Tom-
I don't think they make them anymore and what you might find will be old inventory. Ran into the same thing when we bought the 420DA in 2020. Was told that the newer antennas had the auto function and the supply of the manual gain switch was almost gone. Glomex in SC found me one and I bought it.

That's what I'm finding also. Glomex makes an automatic gain amplifier which I might just get and cover the hole.
I was hoping as a lot of folks are removing their OTA antenna that one might be around.

Tom, I am cool taking mine out. How much are these worth?

Also, what would you recommend to cover up the hole?

Hey Tom,
I called Max Marine Electronics to see if they had one. They sell pre-owned electronics. The tech said he would call me when another comes in. Functionally checked out he said about $30.
I was going to install a standard single gain box blanking wall plate from Home Depot. They have them in black color.

Thanks for the update. I will likely install my WiFi Ranger Everest antenna in the TV antenna spot on the roof, so when I do that, and you still have not found a replacement, I’ll send it to you.

Also, if you could help me find a more period-esque blank plate for the impending cabinet hole, I would truly appreciate it. Esthetics are super important to me as well.

Thinking more like the Vimar Idea line of switches?

And a three of these blanking modules -

Ohh, I like that. Great idea. How about a swap? Is the cost about the same?

Tom

I think around $25 shipped in the 49. Fair to me.

Thanks Tom. Once I am able to get the WiFi Ranger Everest installed on the roof (hopefully in the next 1-2 weeks), I will take the Glomax out and send it to you. The cabinet block out plan looks as good as possible as well.

I am so happy to help you, considering how much you do for the entire group.

Please DM me with your shipping info and I will send you mine.

Tom

Thanks that works great for me also!
One thing about the Vimar Idea products you can take out one or more of the blanks and snap a device like a USB port or outlet or switch. Just wire it up and done.
One thing to be electrically compliant is for devices that connect to AC high voltage an enclosure (box behind the face plate) must be added (just like your house). Vimar has the boxes also but you'll probably have to enlarge the existing hole in the panel to fit the box. You'll notice on our boats that the AC switches and outlets are never collocated with the DC switches which is a compliance thing also.
SR used the Vimar Idea product line for our boats.
I'll send a message to you now.

Again, Thanks!

Awesome!!! So glad for this!!!

Have a great (and Gritty) weekend Tom!!!
