I know this doesn't help much, just an anecdotal post. After I bought my boat in 2015, I was going through all of the storage areas. Found a box with 2 spare bronze Perko strainer caps, with hose fittings - after market machined in. One size for engines, the other for the genset and AC pickups.

Return address on the box was Frank Webster.

I almost used one of these this year. But the garden hose sized opening is not large enough to pull enough fluid for a 450 Diamond engine. I opted for a DIY build for about 1/4 the price.
