I have a sundancer Searay 340 with two Merc gas engines. And I need to get an additive for my fuel to maintain any type of moisture. Need to get the best product for those engines. Can somebody give me a suggestion on what I should use. Thank you very much.

Were you able to find recommendations in those other threads?

As I mentioned above, we could give the same recommendations as before (it hasn't changed) but it ends up being really drawn out.

But... if you want us to do your homework for you...

Startron
Marine Stabil
K100
and others

Grabbing some popcorn and a coke...

Not much to do with gasers. But diesels would be a very long thread. @fwebster has a special concoction post in the tech articles thread thread. Great read and advice.

But for gas engines you don't need much. Ethanol and water. Sta-bil 360 marine works pretty well on both.

Hard to say without knowing where your boat is stored. Humidity in the air plays a big part, as does how empty/full the tanks are during weather/temp changes. Number 1 is to stay away from ethanol-blend, as the alcohol is very hygroscopic and will pull moisture into the tanks. And, as @Lazy Daze mentioned, it's been hashed and re-hashed ad nauseam.

Think about how many boaters have no choice but E10, not the end of the world. Unless your laying up for 6 months I add nothing to e10.

It was startron for me with my gasser.

Elmers makes a good one but for a strong bond, I like the Titebond waterproof yellow. It works best for soft woods and hard woods. Epoxies work really well if your not planning to stain with a penetrating stain........................

Fuel additives are something I don't normally use. Unless there is an issue. Water in the fuel bowl, I use one of the ones that traps water. But first get to the bottom of why there is moisture, and remove as much as I can before hand. If fuel sits for too long, I drain the tank and use the old fuel for the lawn equipment but fill the tank with fresh fuel and a little octane booster to help out the system. So asking a forum what is best for fuel additive can bring out the same type of arguments as asking a car/truck forum what is the best oil. Or a woodworkers forum which is the best glue.

There are so many great products on the market. The best place to get this answer is your marina. Or a marine mechanic in your area. They will be able to steer you in the direction for your area and what would be the best.
