Hi all. I have had numerous similar problems caused by bad drive solenoids and also bad drive up and down switches. As a surprise, this time it seems that my port drive is stuck up by a seized trim cylinder. Anyone have suggestions on how to coax the drive down? The motor runs in both directions. Thanks.

Mine alpha 1 gen 2 did the same thing. It was the cap on the end of the trim cylinders. Then removed the anode and installed new caps and works great

I had this problem once on a B III, when just one cylinder was stuck in full up, and the solenoids were also toast. The motor worked in both directions. After I replaced the solenoids, I worked the up/down a few times and it worked its way loose.

I had a dockmate here tell me one time it worked for him to have a helper stand on the drive (big fat bastard) and then he worked the down switch ... and the extra weight helped to break it free.

Are you hearing a click (solenoid) and motor noise when you press down?

That's what I had to do was have someone stand on my drive and push down to free it up and then it would work till the next time I took it out until the next time I had it in for service I asked him to check it and they replaced the trim ram caps at the ends and no problems from what I know it has 600 PSI of pressure going down 1200 psi up so it's a pretty big difference

Thanks all! An 8 foot 2x4 was used to lever the drive down while also using the outdrive motor. Will have the outdrive cylinders checked at the next servicing,

If you go up and down will it start working as normal I've seen some stick and then they would free up after that and never have a problem again but it's possible you have bad end caps like I did
