So here's the deal I like to split my summer between Sebago in Maine and lake winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. This calls for boat that's trailable. In New Hampshire You cannot tow or get a permit anything over 8'6 Friday through Sunday. I know Doral made the 270SC back in the late 90s that fits this niche but they are very hard to find , Also I've always been a searay fan. Don't need a ton of space. Just need to fit me the girlfriend a little one's.
Looking for something a bit older 1995-2005

Sleeping six will be tough on any trailerable boat. I had a 300 DA and the 4 of us could overnight on it but not too often.

In a Sundancer of that era you'd be looking at a 240 or a 260, but I can't see sleeping any more than 4 in the cabin (2 in the v-berth and 2 in the mid-cabin cave). If the seating in the cockpit converts to a sunpad, and you find one with a full camper canvas, two could sleep up there and it's like camping if you've got a nice New England summer night. Can't wait for those soon!

I am gonna miss having a full cabin. I went to a center console and the "cabin" is about the size of an airplane bathroom

On our 2000 260DA, the cockpit port seat slides out to form a sun pad that could sleep two, albeit not terribly comfortably — maybe good enough for smallish kids, though. Four can sleep in the cabin, so six is doable. Camper canvas is a necessity, though!

I'm pretty sure I slept 6 humans on a Liberator 211 a couple times. Where there's a will, there's a way :)

Early 2000s 260DA Sundancer may fit the need if you consider sleeping in the cockpit under a camper top.

The old 80's 268 may be a consideration. I 'think' you had the v-berth, mid-cabin and the dinette converted to a bed as well, albeit a bit short, so good for littler kids.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the interiors of those and the consul itself is extremely dated. I know every thing could be updated but at what cost? On top of that they tend to use more wood construction. Then the newer boats which I'm trying to avoid having to eventually do floors and stringers.

Check this thing out. Looks like a fine way to sleep 6. 2 outside with the camper top...

Look at 1999 270SE... they had an 8'6 beam in a 27' class boat. Was a nice boat, but 6 is still tight as others have said.
I think they were maid in 1998 and 1999.

My dock neighbor is selling his pristine 2012 280 Sundancer. Freshwater only. 380hrs. Newer style so it’s a 8’10” beam. Awesome layout in cockpit. Custom aluminum trailer included too. PM me if you want his info.

This is one case where I don't think 4" is gonna make that much of a difference.
It may be a jump in budget, but it also may make sense if only in the short run as your family will surely not decrease in size.

hey probably wouldn't but I belive that modle only has the v berth and mid berth. I'm looking for something with a mid berth , a small vbirth and a small dinette. Only over nighty in Maine as it's illegal in nh as to many idiots got caught pumping out into the lakes.

Searay is the wrong brand for sure.

I had a 2006 240 sundancer and it slept me and my wife . The midcabin was a joke for an adult not to talk about two .

A maxxum 2400se of my friend could realistically sleep 4 since the midcabin was large enough for two adults but sleeping 6 comfortably in a trailarable footprint is a wishdream .
