How to leave a bad review “also warning others”

SOUTHEASTERN MARINE POWER IN SARASOTA, FL has a great looking website.....and they also are a large Cummins Marine Diesel shop???? I wonder if this shop is possibly involved in any of this? Just sayin'
It’s not them I’d hate for them to get a bad rap.. but your close.

Hey Joe,
Knowing your situation, I'd say you're being way too kind. We're talking about being screwed on a 5 digit dollar amount project and you gave them two years to make it right. If you were looking for a shop in the area, wouldn't you want to know to stay away from people like this shop? I wouldn't hesitate to use google, yelp, boating forums, BBB, etc. to share your experience. This is the least you can do to help your fellow boaters. We never hesitate with recommendations when people ask for a
decent shops. We should be free to do the same when things go the opposite direction.

Using the power of internet is one of the best options to at least try straightening businesses like this out.

Just my 0.02c.

I agree I will follow up on getting the Money that is due, I guess I’m asking if it’s “ok” to mention the co on forums without getting nasty and avoid a lawsuit of my own? You’d think freedom of speech is protected in our country but you never know anymore. Thanks everyone

I wouldn’t name names publicly until after the matter is settled. Leaving a bad yelp review is one thing but comments on a public message board with too many specifics could be used against you as evidence in court. Keep the upper hand and hammer them with it.

Expanding on what I said yesterday keeping this as vanilla as possible. My current boat, I like her. The dealer/broker was fine during sale. Then became a total scumbag after sale. About a month after sale, he starts sending me bills for thousands of dollars of work he added to the sales invoice.
Well i had the original bill of sale invoice with his signature that didnt have all his doctored crap on it. Took both to my lawyer who proceeded to send him a stern education about libel, fraud, some other charges. Never heard another word.
Now, he still in business and I would love to destroy him. But i have never said one word or posted anything on line. Sorry for next guy down the line but not opening myself up to a libel suit.

I am not a lawyer, but my understanding is that as long as you state facts it is okay

I had a terrible experience with a diesel repair co in Fla where I had to sue them for non service and now then they stopped making court ordered payments. where can I say it out loud to warn others not to use them or beware? I’m so pissed this has been going on for 2 years and now this? I called small claims court they said I’d have to re file to get them back to court. I don’t know if I can say their co name here what’s the rule ? I’d like to warn others.
Thanks for the rant.

So I had a terrible experience with an engine survey performed on QSM-11's in my 52 in Sarasota. Joe, any chance their name starts with Gulf...?

Winner winner!! Brian see this is why we need to post things like this I could have avoided them if Brian posted a negative review without fear of Libel.

So here we are 3 plus months later. Is there an update you can share?

I'm currently immersed in "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The roaring '20s and the enigmatic Jay Gatsby's world have me hooked. The elegance of Fitzgerald's prose and the intriguing characters make it a classic worth revisiting. Speaking of reading, if you're a student struggling with annotated bibliography assignments, you should check out the annotated bibliography writing service Essaypro https://essaypro.com/annotated-bibliography-writing-service . They've been a lifesaver for me, meticulously crafting those tedious lists of sources, saving me time and stress. Share your experience on popular review websites like Yelp, Google Reviews, or the Better Business Bureau. Be factual and objective in your review. Or Post your experience on your own social media profiles, or consider joining relevant groups or forums where people discuss similar issues. You can share your experience and provide details without using the company's name.

I've had good luck with the BBB. Unlike your random review site, the BBB will actually reach out and contact the vendor. Otherwise, chances are, the vendor will never even run across your review. After all, if they really tracked their reputation they probably would have done right by you.

As others have said, stick to the facts and keep your anger in check.

So GCP has a terrible reputation, and even law suits against them for not refunding money for work never completed. At least according to Yelp.
