340 SUNDANCER THREAD

Agree. I will need to keep an eye on them throughout the season. We had the issue with wasps wanting to build nests in the blower exhausts prior to this install.

Where did you find the vent covers? Pricing seems to be all over the board. Thanks
I ordered my replacements from replacementboatparts.com: Vent Grill fits 4" hose, white, part # ME8200W. $5 each back in 4/2021. My boat is a 380, but I'm pretty sure we both have 4" exhaust hose.

So replacing old non working speed and temp transducer on our 2001 the depth trans. is on the port side and the old Raymarine ST trans was on the starboard side.

Anyone modified the useless drink holder to the left of the cabin entry door? I'm thinking of ways to make this space better.

here's what I did. 1" hard maple the spacers are 1/2" copper tubing couplings

Both look really nice and much more useful than what is original. Are your tops level after the alteration or are they still slightly running down hill?

Still follows the original angle but the extra thickness and height will hold the cup now. Unless you change the bottom making the top level wouldn't change anything.

Just joined the club! Bought a 2001 340DA with 7.4L, V-Drives. Got a good deal on it but it needs a lot of exterior cleaning (interior looks great though). Needs new canvas all around, some minor work on a new starboard engine (PO replaced the engine (with manifolds and risers) but didn't do any of the extra's like fuel pump, serpentine belt, fuel injector cleaning, etc). Will also probably need a port engine this coming winter (compressions are more than 15% apart) but purchase price took this into account. Needs new electronics (has operational raymarine original equipment) as well. Marine survey came back good on pretty much everything except as noted above and a few cosmetics.

Currently replacing cockpit sink/faucet, all new dash panels and switches, new steering wheel, new VHF radio, canvas ordered, cockpit carpet will be ordered soon, and some other odds and ends i can't think of. My credit card is on fire this month lol.

Looking forward to learning more about these boats. I've had 22 footers for years and always on lakes. (now ocean).

Great boat, post a couple pics for us to enjoy

Yeah, it was between this one and a newer 320. The 340 felt noticeably bigger. I can imagine the 380 is even better! My father has a 460 Sedan Bridge and that thing is amazing.

Good morning. We purchased a 2000 340DA around this time last year. Best move ever was reading all of these 149 pages of notes. Tons of information and insights that proved invaluable insight to our enjoyment last year.
Best Performance Mod - Clean the Flame Arrestors
Best Cabin Move - Remove the curtains (odors), add a decent topper and recover the bolsters in a matching "leatherette".
Best "on the hook" Move - Service your generator (including Governor oil change and fuel filter at carburetor)
Best Cleaning Move - 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner and a small electric, light duty, (~1,500 PSI) pressure washer
Best Driving Mode - Backwards at the helm managing the transmissions at idle to put it ANYWHERE!

I thought it was time that we start up a 340DA thread...Me and the wife started boating 3 years ago and fell in love with it. We where planning on moving up from our 23ft bowrider to a 340 last season but we had to hold off. We are planning to move up this season. We are looking at the 340 with the 8.1's, radar/chartplotter, spot light, front sun pad with s/s runners, under swim platform lighting and the fixed soft top. I'm on the fence with getting the generator. Any suggestions or comments would be great.

I have a 2000 340 SD and I am replacing both original refrigerators. For the cockpit I am leaning towards the Dometic 1065S and undecided on the galley/cabin replacement. I know many have replaced it with the Vitrifrigo C115IXD4-F with the oversized flange but visually I am looking for a cleaner look like this pic: can anyone identify the make model? It’s hard to tell but almost looks like they may have installed a cabinet filler on the left.
Cabinet R/O is 23 1/2 W x 31 1/8 H and looking for a drop in fitment - SS.

I have a The Nova Kool R5810 sitting in the garage waiting to go in for the cabin after launch this year.

This one is the Dometec CRX (available from West Marine). We bought the black front, AC/DC model. About $1,200 on sale. Fit like a glove after two 1/2-3/4 shims on each side. The flange covered them perfectly. Also, needed a shim to level from front to back.

I believe the Vitrifrigio has larger interior, but we wanted a physical location in case we had problems.
