Hi All,

Looking for some knowledge again. My boat has a Tracvision M3 on board. Right now it is apparently connected to some Direct TV tuners and associated h/w. When I turn on the onboard tv’s I get a direct tv screen saying no satellite.

I would like to know if the Tracvision can be used to get internet only and not use direct tv. I use ROKU at home and would like to use them onboard.

any info-intelligence would be appreciated

M3 will only get Direct, you most likely need to call Direct and get a reboot basically.

For DTV the M3 would have been programmed for DTV Satellite 101. Sat 101 is Ku band which is standard definition but now hosts Ku band HD channels also. Your M3 will pick up both SD and HD on the 101 Sat. If your Direct TV receiver displays DTV on the screen but is not connecting to the satellite then two things may be the issue -
The M3 system isn't turned on or is malfunctioning. If you can hear the antenna slewing inside of the housing then power is turned on and it is functioning. If when you pull the antenna housing off and the antenna is locked onto the 101 position (south southwest and approximately 40 degrees upward from a Florida location) and slews vertically slightly it is working.
Or - The DTV receiver configuration isn't set up for the M3 style of LNB and dish.
