Hi all. This is my first post. I recently acquired a 1999 420 AFT cabin. The boat is GORGEOUS. I'm very new to Sea Ray and boating in general. Most of my experience has been on 20' and under boats on the lakes and rivers back in Illinois. I now live in Seabrook Texas. So I have not only moved up in boat size but also boating in the Gulf of Mexico. I'm a little overwhelmed right now but I'm not too concerned about it. Let me get back on topic. Everything is in excellent condition on this boat except for the shower in the back stateroom which has a single handle Delta shower. I get no water flow from it. Actually if I take the cartridge out I do get water flowing but I think there's a blockage in the mixer valve or the plumbing. I have replaced the cartridge with a new one and that's not the problem. There is really no access to the plumbing other than through the opening in the shower wall. Tight working conditions. Sorry for the "long winded first post" I'll be better the next time. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?? Let me add that there is no flow to the shower outlet only coming out of the hot and cold inlet in the valve.

I don't have any experience with the 420 AC but love the layout.

Welcome to CSR.

For sure that’s not right…. You need to go up stream to the manifold…. Check it.. if ok then you know where your problem is

welcome aboard

If I am reading this correctly, you have water to the valve body inlets but not superior to the shower head? Start with the simple first. Have you removed the shower head to see if water comes out the shower head nipple?

+1 When we got our boat water flow was very low, removed all the spigots, restrictions and screens, all were covered in crud, cleaned, put some bleach in the water tank ran it dry, refilled and cleaned everything again, all good.

Sorry, edit. Welcome, if it hasn’t happened here it never will.

Thanks for the replies. Well with the help of a couple of boat buddies we/they solved the problem. We had already done all of the suggested fixes. What did the trick was to disassemble the entire valve from the plumbing and remove it from the shower wall, no easy task! Turns out that the opening in the valve going to the shower was clogged with some "sediment". Using some straight wire we were able to remove the clog. That did the trick. Turns out that the hardest part is removing and reinstalling the valve and lines into the bulkhead. The last difficult part was trying to reattach the face plate. Couldn't get the screws to line up to the backer plate. Anyway MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! It was a real PITA. Thanks for bearing with me on this first post.

I had same problem. Needed to remove entire valve . Removed all wrap around seats in salon. After many, many measurements I cut a 5”x8” hole in the aft bulkhead. Precisely behind the new cut out was the shower valve. Was able to remove and repair.
