Hi, I have a question. To use the freshwater hose intake in the trunk, rather than from the tank. Do I still keep the pump on? Do I need to do anything to take water from hose besides hook it up? Thank you!

I turn off the pump, seem to remember that the owners manual states to do that.

Ok, thank you. I looked but didn't see. My line may be clogged some the pressure is super low. And the water hose supple has plenty of pressure

There is a check valve behind bulkhead between the valve and supply hose that is probably stuck or plugged up.

It’s behind the panel in the trunk that the valve is bolted too. You have to remove the panel enough to get access to it. It’s a PITA to get to.

Uggghh, I will get to sometime soon. Or just keep using tank for now then. Thank you!

Lol. It took me a year to do it. When I finally did, I eliminated the original pressure regulator and check valve and added a pressure regulator and pressure gauge on the hose connection side.

I did (and do) the exact same thing.
Getting that pressure regulator out was a pain.

So wifey has been wanting a shade over the bow. I wanted something that I can stow and deploy quickly. Since I am no longer using my Sun Fly poles in the back I found a great way to use them up front. Didn’t want to drill any additional holes also so used some sea suckers to attached to the top. Definitely going to be nice over in the Bahamas.

Grant, the Sunfly poles are attached to the bow rail how? Also the center support pole is on a simple rubber foot?

I used 2 fishing pole mounts mounted on top of each other to the vertical bow rail. Cut the bottom out of the top one to act as a sleeve. Yes the support pole had a rubber foot. Still tweaking the set up but it will be awesome to keep the sun off the bow.

Oil Change question....
Are you guys running Shell Rotella T4 15W-40 straight oil or are you using a synthetic blend? I beileve T5 is Shell's Rotella synthetic blend.

Just curious. I've always run the "straight" oil. Today at the Marina I see one of the techs with a wagon full of 15W-40 Synthetic Blend. It wasn't Shell Rotella but I don't recall the brand off the top of my head.

So I called Cummins tonight….they said as long as it meets CH-4 spec it’s good.

Rotella T4 meets CH-4, CI-4, CI-4 Plus, CJ-4, CK-4

I used Rotella T4 15w-40 $95 a pail from Autozone (They take the old oil back) on engines and generator and 30w engine oil non detergent brand Lubriplate on transmissions. Including filters I spent about $500

I know this is going to sound silly but I found this repair very satisfying.

What's going on? The bilge switch oon mine is on the right, closest to the entry/steps.

Which boat is the right way! :)

I can see your way making sense, the salon switch being the 1st one going down the steps.

But maybe like mine, the bilge light is 1st because it's closest to the bilge...

I'm so confused.
