The Official 450 Express Bridge Owners Club

Yacht manager called while aboard my boat in Ft. Meyers today. Miraculously, no visible water intrusion, no hull damage. Ran generator & engines to charge up systems. Found my helm cover on the bridge deck so was able to put it back in place. Spent time cutting away shredded canvas and the support structure is still sound, not bent. Cockpit cover pole supports aft broke their locking pins. Dock power might be quite a ways off as main dock power panels serving floating docks were underwater. So, no continuous cabin dehumidification and battery charging for a while. Feeling grateful anyway.

@Jack O'Brien great news, sounds like as good as can be expected for the situation.

New anchor. Need to get the locking line extended a bit (windlass holding it up in this pic). The rollers are just a bit forward based on the hook of the shank (you can see why in the second pic).

Love it! How did you score such a deal on it????

Facebook Marketplace. Went to the Chiefs vs. Bucs last week and one of my neighborhood boat friends and I were talking about my anchor issues. He jumped on Marketplace and found that near Tampa, so I took a little side trip. The previous owner has a 47' Intrepid and he had been talked into believing his anchor was too big (the boat came with that anchor) He downsized, I benefitted.

He downsized, lol. Maybe he doesn't anchor in the wind much!

So, it is has been one year since I did annual maintenance. We logged 142.5 hours, so just shy of 50% of the 300 hours for a time driven oil change maintenance cycle.

I am currently doing 13 month maintenance cycles to drive my annual into January.

Anyway, curious on how many hours all of you are doing yearly?

Since boat acquisition, June 2020, about 130 hrs/yr run time. 150 hrs or so PM svc sounds about right.

I’m at 340 hours since we purchased the boat in August of 2020. I try to change the oil and do a service on the gen set and all of the zincs every 100 hours. I missed the mark on the generator but cross my fingers and toes it still runs like a champ. Westerbeke is also known as Westerbroke. o_O
We are in Two Harbors this weekend for Buccaneer Days. Our harbor neighbor is here too with his 450. Notice what is hanging from the crane. :D

We hit the 200 hour service on the generator twice a year, but we have a Phasor a.k.a. Kubota. Great genset.

A friend of mine bought a nice 50' Mikelson in San Diego and is bringing it north at the end of the month. He snapped this picture in the marina and I noticed the 450. I asked him to send me the name before he heads out so I can look it up.

So here is an oddity in the 450EB world. I found this listing for "Remedy" out of Sarasota Florida to charter a "2012" Sea Ray 450 Express Bridge for $999 for a quarter day.

The owner "Todd" has been chartering it since December of 2020. I started to go through the pictures of the boat and noticed the Florida State license (no luck finding it on the USCG site) and what appears to be a fairly standard 3 stateroom 450. Everything is normal until you see the helm.

My guess is this is an early production boat. The gauge cluster I believe is from the 440 EB along with the shifter and throttle sticks. I'll try to find a 440 EB helm to compare this to, but it might be identical other than the steering wheel.

Well that didn't take long. A quick search of the 440 EBs for sale confirm this is the same helm.

Now I wonder if "Todd" will respond to my message about his boat. :)

Todd is pulling down $4k for a full day, good for him. Not sure who charters a boat for two hours on that 1/4 day. Must be using it as a teaser rate.

If the 440 EB was 9" narrower than the 450 EB, does this boat have an offset helm (not centered)? Or is the "T" couch on the starboard side of the helm from a 450 and not a 440? Of course I would really like to see the production numbers to add it to the list. Maybe this is the elusive #1 450????o_O

440? Sure looks like 450. And 2012? Thought 2004 was last production year.
