When we bought our 2000 310Da. 6 yrs. ago it was easy to see things that we wanted to change. This last weekend because of a Nor'easter Lake Erie was a no go. Sitting in the 340's cabin besides electronic I really don't see anything this winter that we can't live with. Our cabin has the light wood cabinets instead of the white and the cabin upholstery has already been done in a velour type material. The carpet and Sunbrella covers are in good condition. Now the electronics lets put it this way cheap as money can buy. Sim Rad Cruise 9 plotter a Ray73 vhf radio and a still functioning ST60 Tridata. We're happy with the general amenities of 340. The boat has the 8.1s engines and was well taken care of which was why we bought it. So electronics are at the top of the list. Garmin 943xsv with radar and a Standard Horizon GX2400 radio and latter auto pilot.

I can only half-agree with your assessment of the current electronics: the Cruise 9 is pretty basic, which makes their pairing of a Ray73 that much more odd!?

The 73 definitely has a utilitarian look to it, but that's actually a higher-end unit! It supports both 0183 and 2000 networking, which is odd, since the Cruise 9 does neither? Did they have the 73 hooked up to something that they didn't include in the sale?

Nothing else in the sale my guess is the original raymarine crapped out and that's what they replaced it with. The only thing else that wasn't hooked up was an old ray marine GPS device that screen was burned up in it.

Well I will say this, I have twin 1243's and love them. You will love the upgrade, it also displays the AIS target nicely.

Winter? Boats on blocks?
