Help me understand…… why bother?
No no I get that part….. my feeling is this ceramic coating is a fad…. I did it a year ago on my blue hull….. no difference then waxHe is 25.
His new car is his first significant purchase and he wants to keep it as nice as possible.
(I blame myself for some of this). I am incredibly proud of his accomplishments and so is he.
Ahh. Sorry I misunderstood your question. No no I get that part….. my feeling is this ceramic coating is a fad…. I did it a year ago on my blue hull….. no difference then wax
Something tells me you didn't apply it properly, if you did it. My bil had his 46 Cruisers done 3 years ago by DaVinci. 3 day process to do the entire boat not just the hull. All he uses deionized water and a brush to clean it. He has a deionizer gizmo on his dock water. His boat sparkles. No no I get that part….. my feeling is this ceramic coating is a fad…. Hey…. You can’t start out a discussion with “I did it wrong”…. Blue hulls oxidize like it’s their job…. All they want to do is go grey and chalky …. Putting icing over it does not stop it…. That was my point … there is no silver bullet for blueSomething tells me you didn't apply it properly, if you did it. Likely a silly question
Is there any benefit to ceramic coating either before or after the XPEL is applied?

Well, that all depends. My blue hull is as deep rich blue as it was 15 years ago. I get compliments everywhere I go. But I take excellent care of it including a wash after I use it. Each Spring it's hauled out and gets a full wash, compound and wax.
Thanks again for all the replies.
He wound up getting the paint corrected then XPEL on all but the back portion of the roof.
Also had wheels and calipers ceramic coated (gyeon I believe).
Saw the car today and it looks amazing.
He already has a small rock ding in the film, so it obviously is doing its job.
https://www.detailersdomain.com/ did the work. They did a great job.
My bil's hull is also dark blue. Looks new and it's a 2008.Hey…. You can’t start out a discussion with “I did it wrong”…. Blue hulls oxidize like it’s their job….
