My dinette cabinet console is sagging. I noticed a small sag when I purchased the boat but now I notice a considerable drop in the middle which is causing major cabinet alignment issues. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so, how to repair it.

That, unfortunately, has all of the earmarks of wood rot due to those portlights leaking.

I agree with @ttmott. If those cabinets got wet they could sag just on their own. Even without water the cabinets would sag from their weight alone across that span so unless it was properly supported or fastened this could happen. It is possible the mounts hold it midspan broke (or pulled out from rot) so I would investigate this.

Unfortunately, if the cabinets have taken that shape it may be almost impossible to completely undo. To get the sag out you may need to try to remove them (which may not be completely possible) and invert them and weight the ends to allow them to try to regain their original shape.

Unfortunately the only real way to fix is to completely remove them and rebuild the cabinets. You should also take the paneling off the side walls to see if any water is leaking in behind them from the port windows. I've had a friend have this same issue on a different model boat and it was no joke. Once you start, be prepared to have to rip out more than you thought you would need to in order to properly repair the issue and rebuild the unit.

Good Winter Project... I have had mine apart when replacing the radio. Should be all screwed together, start pulling apart and see what the issue is. Could be as easy as a broken support, maybe a big wave broke something loose. Or could be rot... are there water stains anywhere, musty smell, water in the floor storage area, etc.?

I'm curious, how long ago was it that you purchased the boat? A sag in the cabinets should've been noticed by a surveyor.

I appreciate all of the input. Are there midspan supports behind the radio? It looks like they are just supported at the bulkheads. I also wonder if there are any diagrams showing the connections.

I had the cabinet over the dinette on my 280DA come down. What I found was little holding it up to start with. In my case there were 2 #10 wood screws on each end, that was all. The screws were bent and partially pulled out. I was able to get some support for a lever and force it back into place.

Your cabinets are longer and heavier, I'd think there would be some support in the middle.

I just zoomed your picture...it does look like you have leaky portholes.
