Vacuflush clogged

In 10 years of dealing with vacuflush toilets, never had an issue. Only human waste, marine toilet paper, and NoFlex allowed. No issues.

Same here for 6 years.

Initially it was bothersome and foreign to me but once I got it running correctly...no problems.

We have a conversation with guests too and they seem to get it and have caused no issues.

Boating friends with other systems aren't so lucky, but I don't think they have that precautionary chat at the dock.

There's pages here with boat owners having issues with their vacuflush toilets. Many of that seems to be from passengers throwing all manner of things in there or perhaps leaving their number 2 business to make a clog. Of course, they leave it to the boat owner to deal with it and they go on their merry way afterwards.
As part of my boarding procedure, guests are apprised of safety rules, PFD 's and the very nice marina facilities across the street available for #2 usage prior to departure.
I consider that a reasonable request in exchange for a wonderful 3 hour sunset cruise that is of no cost to them, cocktails, champagne and finger food included. In an emergency, I will gladly pull into one of the numerous dock and dine bar/restaurants along the way.
As a result, my vacuflush is always in tip top condition and worry free.
I agree the head users need to be educated on what can be flushed down a vacuflush. Probably the most common cause of problems I've seen others have is they don't have enough water in the bowl when they're flushing poo.

In 20 years of vacuflush ownership I have used a plumbers helper (plunger) twice and it resolved the issue very quickly.

Not meaning to derail the thread, but, while we’re on the subject, how long would you expect the pump to run once starting the system? I’m new to this whole vacu-flush thing.

Ours always ran around 20 seconds from the time it was new to the time we sold the boat after 14 years. We used the head regularly and never replaced any parts. Keeping them clean and avoiding harsh chemicals is one of the keys to longevity without problems.

20-30 seconds on normal flush. It should be very consistent.

It depends on how far the tank is to the toilet, mine is about 40 seconds if I am guessing

For my vacuflush head. I've made a different sign..it says number 2's are strictly forbidden, number 1's only.
I make sure everyone is advised to use the very nice and clean marina facilities before boarding.
No exceptions. Myself included.

All this tells us is you don't use your boat right. It's a cruiser so go do cruiser stuff. I can tell you I shit in mine all the time. Never a problem except for that friend that put 2 tampons in it. She jumped right in the engine room and helped me pull the vacuum tank to fix it. We were on a 3 week trip.
You would be very uncomfortable not shitting for the week until we returned to the dock for one night to service and clean the boat and back out again. Last trip was over 3 weeks and only 5 nights at a marina. I used the boat to go to remote places and get away from people.
Get out there and use that cruiser for what it was made for!

I used to put a little Vaseline on the gasket in the bowl for storage over the winter.
