Every once and a while I will run into a Sea Ray owner on the dock and usually, I bring up the topic of forum interest. Every so often I find that they are CSR followers, but I don't recognize them due to the handles we use. I now can think of getting close to a dozen CSR members here in the SF/Sac river delta area. I just met a new one on at a dock party last night because I was admiring his 89 300. It was very close match to my first boat, an 83 280 and I was pointing out similarities to another friend when the owner noticed from across the dock and came over to introduce himself. Of course, the CSR topic came up and sure enough he is a member. I asked what his handle is, but the cocktails seem to have interfered with my memory.
I was just curious as to how many of us get a chance to actually meet and know other members in person. Funny, I am on the Carver owner group and there are 18 Carvers in our marina. I think that I have met two of them and they had no idea an online owner forum exists for Carver. I am convinced that Carver owners are just a bit different than Sea Ray owners though;)
Cheers

I have met 9 CSR members personally. Two are in my marina. There is a third one but we have not met personally yet.

I’ve met several, not sure how many. On my dock 1 occasional poster, 1 rarely, I lurker.
Around the marina 2 others. Around the area a couple more. I had the opportunity to meet a few at the Lake Michigan rendezvous while we were looping, that was fun. We also flew a CSR burgie for most of the loop, that was a conversation starter and allowed us to meet a few more. Also met someone in St Augustine on our way back from the Bahamas a few years ago who were looping and from northern NY, by coincidence ran into them again 2 years ago up on the St Lawrence River where they are from. Same trip I met A fellow 400 db owner at his marina in Port Royal which was a few years after we ran into him in Ft Pierce. I met a regular poster here from Rochester and his family when they were beginning their search for a bigger boat and wanted to see a 400 db. As I’m tapping this out I am remembering more and more. More than I thought actually, I guess I’ve met a bunch, cruising a lot helps, all great people.

We have met a number as they have passed through Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral and we've met some on our TN Tom and TN River travels over the years. Attending the CSR gathering in Atlantic City four times helped us to meet a lot of members.

I have had the pleasure of meeting a few members @alnav , @mrsrobinson and @villain style who is a few docks over from me. I have met a few others that don't really post that much who I have helped out and hung out with over the years. I will say this, this forum has a very unique membership in that everyone I have met have been boat loving good people. I met people from other forums and wished I hadn't. Not the case here, all very nice people.

Hmmm, met @Foursuns, @Gimme Time, and two others I don't think they're on here anymore about 15 years ago. Met @SKybolt, @Korkie and Mike, sorry Mike I can't remember your screen name, in the past few months since buying my 380.

Greg, no worries! Hope you get your boat running well soon!

I'm within a mile of a few, but have only met one, who many years ago, repowered his 370 with Yanmars from Rich Mastery, and then drove it from Ft. Lauderdale to Trinidad, on the keel!
Hope he's still around.

Met several passing through Solomons. This year met msrobinson, great couple - on their way home to the Potomac with their NTT 380. Hope to meet up with jaybeaux on the 13th @ Spring Cove in Solomons along with some others.
Gonna miss ya greg

Zero, unfortunately. There is only one semi-active member on my lake, Bottomline. Have yet to cross paths. Considering that at least 20% of the boats on our lake are Sea Rays, I'd think there would be more forum members. I had always wanted to make an Atlantic City rendezvous gathering, but the timing never worked out.

although we didn’t end up in a DB that afternoon visit made up our minds it was time to upgrade! :)

100's.

I was involved in planning the Homecoming at Sea Ray in 2010 and in the new model show SR marketing invited CSR members to in 2011 and 2012. We also hosted a rendevous in Panama City Beach at our home marina. It is kind of interesting how this has worked for us…….I don't even remember screen names these days. Most all of the CSR families I have met have become friends so I hear from them regularly by PM, email or text usually when they need help or have a kid graduating or getting married.

I have met some great people on CSR and value our association and friendship. For me this is a lot more than place to swap jokes. The effort you invest in helping others certainly does pay dividends.
