6.2 in 2001 340Da.

Don't know anything about 6.2 verses 7.4 but are they a good match for a 340 Da.

when we were looking at 340’s I found the 6.2 underpowered for a V drive boat and the way we planned to use it (extended Great Lakes cruises)

it performed well with outdrives but we did not want them. The 8.1 v-drive config in that model 340 was my favorite but I’m not sure you’ll find it before 2002

I don’t think the 8.1’s came til later in 2001 model year. 2000’s should be 7.4’s unless they were repowered at some point
 
My '99 340 had the 7.4's. Ran like a champ. After doing much of my own maintenance for 3 years on that thing I would have killed for the extra room the 6.2's would have afforded me...
 
Similar performance to the 320. Cruises at around 4k rpm. Definitely not as robust as big blocks but serviceable for average cruising.
