Installing LED TV on 2004 340 Sundancer Bulkhead Wall

I have the exact same boat and looking to tackle this project. What TV did you purchase? Any tips and suggestions for installation?
Thanks.

Next, removed the mouting bracket from the old tv and install on the new one..mine came with new screws of various lengths. Just make sure you use the correct ones so as not to damage the new tv. I also found that I needed to raise the bulkhead mount and add spacers behind it so the tv would clear the surround. I think the spacers were around 1-1/4" and I moved the mount up by about 1-1/2". Yours may be different, and I used 3" screws to remount the bulkhead bracket with the spacers.
After this is done, reattach the surround, slide the tv onto the bulkhead mount, and then reinstall the small screws that hold the tv mount to the bulkhead mount.

When you guys attached the shroud again did you glue the small screw covers back on or just let it ride? That’s all I lack having this project completed.

I just let it ride. I may go with a different bracket plus I forgot where I put a couple of the covers.

Windjammer - did you end up keeping the bracket or change it out? And why? I am about to do this to mine and your instructions are a great help. I was wondering what about the bracket you didn’t like when you posted this.

I went with the same bracket. I thought about one that would pull out and swivel, but that would interfere with the main electrical door.

Wind- I’m doing this now - my question is how did you get the to the screws on the bottom of the mount after you slide it onto the the fixed mount? Was it spaced out so far that even with the shroud on you could still see the screws? Or did you leave the bottom shroud securing screws off until you got to those securing screws and tilt it back while it hangs on the top screws?

As I best remember, I think I got the screws on the bottom of the mount before I put the shroud back on. But mountung the top of the shroud might work as well.

Looking at it I can’t get the shroud over the tv as the cutout is too small - thinking about modifying the shroud so it fits over the tv like the factory one. Stretching the material worries me but that is how the factory one is. Opening the cutout will require patience and guts :).

I do remember going thru some contortions to get the shroud remounted.

I decided to keep the tv mounted “in” the surround so I will try to post pictures of the modifications. Thanks again.
Btw - having issues getting my t-mobile iPhone to stream - could not get the visio updated firmware or any services with any clarity - my Visio is the 1080 version.

I ended up buying a mount on Amazon. It's 3/4" thick and the TV is a 43" Samsung that's 3/4" also. Fits perfect without hitting the door. Just had to slide it over a little. The mount has locking screws so it wont move around.

I will attempt to show my modifications if you have the surround and lights with the factory tv.

Basically I followed windjammers instructions since I bought the 32” Visio. I brought the surround home after measuring what size opening would be needed to put it back on after the tv was mounted using the original mounts. I removed the staples from the sides where I was going to open it up.

I then extended the window keeping a board between the material and the part I was cutting. I did this so I did not have to remove all the staples and material and I did not cut the existing material by accident.

Next I recovered the surround the best I could.

Back at the boat - I moved the support pads but had to remove the rubber pads which interfered with me getting the factory mount to work without spacing it out.

this is what it looks like mounted - just need to figure out if I am going to use the cables to my iPhone.

Looks good. I just wimped out on cutting the surround so my tv sticks out a few inches.

I haven't read this entire thread, so I'll apologize in advance if this has been covered.
I have a 2007 340 - I removed the old TV and mounted a new 43" smart TV (barely fits/clears). We can stream via the pier's wifi but I'd like to get over-the-air channels and hook into the built in DVD player. Experimentation has not worked yet and I can't make sense of the existing wires and boxes. Does the coaxial go to the antenna or to the cable-in plug or both? Do I need that big black tuner box? What about the remote control antenna (not shown). And the box in the upper left, and the little green boxes? Its tough to hold the TV in mid-air to test stuff so I'm tempted to snip the harness open and let the wires flow out a bit.. TIA.

Your antenna connection will probably need to connect directly to the TV which has a digital tuner. I doubt that the old DVD player or other old devices will have a digital tuner which is now needed for TV reception.

I did not have those boxes so I really can’t help here. There were some rca connections I believe came from the rear DVD player that I did not have the ability to hook to the new tv because of limited jacks on the tv. My coax went straight into the tv. I am guessing if I replace the broken ota antenna that the tv will get the digital signals for the local stations.
