Anyone with a 02-07 dancer with 8.1 V drives know what they GPH is at cruising rpm??

TIA !

Cruising at 3450 rpm, about 26 GPH (13gph per side).
Seems low. My 2000 340DA with 7.4 Horizons (380HP) was closer to 34 gph total / 17 per side at 3,500 rpm.

My 2006 with V-Drives at around 3400 rpms and 26 mph (or so) I am burning 32 gph per my Smart Craft.

I wonder what Wind is doing to get such great economy?

The 8.1s optimal rpm for max torque is 3200 rpm. I can usually get 25-27 mph with a 30-32gph fuel burn from VesselView. At 3500 rpm i can get up to 28-31mph with 36gph rate.

Same engines, but on a 2001 with vdrives, 4 blade props, and enlarged tabs.

Windjammer....he's clearly added a sail attachment to his 340 :)

I had a floscan on my 99 340 with 7.4's and she'd run pretty consistently in the low 30's gph at cruise as well. I was shocked at how similar the fuel burn is with my 400, same motors...

No sail (not enough masts!), but will recheck the next time out.

Shouldnt the fuel burn at a particular RPM be rather consistent for these engines if they are running healthy? Everything else like boat size, weight, and props just impact speed.

2008 8.1s v-drive, half tanks and 2 people on board:

3000 RPM 24.1 GPH 21 MPH
3300 RPM 29.5 GPH 25 MPH
3500 RPM 33.2 GPH 28 MPH

That was last year right after installing new spark plugs.

This last weekend I was getting 15.8GPH port and 16.5GPH STB @3250 RPMs and 26.5MPH on a flat lake according to VesselView Mobile. That was with Half Gas and water tanks and empty holding tank. If I pushed it up to 3400, it became about 30MPH and a 36.5GPH burn.
