Should my float switch turn on my bilge pump no matter where the battery switch is. I test the switch with an ohm meter and it went nuts but if I jump the float wires the pump won't turn on. But it will turn on if I hit the switch on the dash board . 2006 215 WE 5.0 mpi. Thanks

Thought the other was a pm

Yes - it should be wired so it is always “on” regardless of battery switch position.

It's set how it came from sea ray so if I jump the two wires going to the float switch should the pump turn on regardless. Thank you

Ohm went all over the place no matter what position the switch was in so I will get a new one. Don't understand why pump won't run jumping the wires it's the factory bilge set up

I put in ohm meter on the old float switch and it would never zero out maybe one out of 9 10 times replaced the float switch with no luck then found a separate fuse located in the engine compartment for the bilge pump so I pulled that fuse out it turns a bilge pump on manually with the switch at the helm and it's still worked it cleaned up the corrosion replaced the fuse the float switch now works beautifully so if anyone ever runs into this problem the old float switches were Mercury and over time it going to leaked out it could have done anything but it was a combination of two different problems the float switch not ohming out and the fuse

Just got a 2006 sea ray 205, anyone know the length and inner diameter size of the bilge hose? Mine is split right behind the adjustable hose clamp coming off the pump.
