OFFICIAL - 450DA Owner's Thread****

2 of the 3 sections of the forward deck got waxed today... Can you tell which two ? I know that the light is not helping.

Bill how does your bow pad seat attach to the front. Mine has two tracks that the cushion slides into
There are 5 snaps for it to attach to but the boat didn't come with one and I have never felt the need to spend the money to have one made.

There's a GFCI in the fwd head that covers all the portside outlets.

Can anyone please tell me if there is one on the STBD side to protect that circuit, or any others that should be there?

We are galley to starboard, the cabinet under the sink to the left has the GFCI and the port side master head cabinet above the sink has the other one.

What is everyone using for batteries for there thruster?
Mine are dead causing my vetus to flash red. I found one battery boiled out.
the current set up is using two 4d batteries (golf cart style) in series producing 24 volts

We are 12v and I'm using AGM's group 31

Thrusters installed by P.O. in 2014

12 volt systems

Bow Thruster: 2x12 volt batteries located in fwd floor compartment

Stern Thruster: 12v tied into the factory battery system.

Really didn't know where to post this, so I apologize for any redundancy.

1996 450 Sundancer here, has 2 fake "aquarium" panels in the salon where most boats have mirrors.

These are illuminated with a rope light, goes all around the edges of these panels.

My rope light has become yellow with age, and needs to be replaced with a new LED setup.

Problem is I have no idea how to gain access. I removed the panels in the cabinets above, and also removed the seat backs on the long couch below, but no joy.

Here's a couple of photos of a boat I looked at last fall where the owner had replaced the lights, so I do know it's possible, just have NO IDEA how to gain access.

Anyone been there, done this ?

Photos of that boat follow below:

Wow those are cool I just have mirrors

there probably held on with the Christmas tree fasteners

try starting at a corner and pulling. I'm going to mine this afternoon and will take a peek

Thats what I was thinking, and it makes good sense.

However I yanked as hard as I could on that center section - between the two panes.

Gave it my all and it would not budge.

Please let me know if you find a place to insert a pry bar that will not damage a mirror.

Would be really nice for me to get that very tired, damned ugly yellow ropelight replaced.

And here I thought this could be a quick, easy rainy-day fix.

So i'm guessing 8d batteries are over kill. I guess i'll go to two group 31. I'm surprised your motors are 12v?
Ours are in the floor hatch right next to the thruster tube and motor. They are connected to the main house batteries with a battery combiner and 1/0 cables .

My batteries are adjacent to the thruster. 2 batteries in series with a 24 volt charger mounted in the compartment

Your right the panel is tight. If i had to remove it i would start at the extreme right by the T stat and get leverage on that side and start prying it off. its cool that they change colors
