So while out this past weekend I noticed that my tach's were reading 3K both but the syncronizer gauge showed it was way off? They sound more even when the syncro is straight up but then my port tach shows about 500 rpm less than the starboard. Anyone ever have this issue and how was it resolved? Here is a picture of my tach's and syncronizer from this weekend. BTW, the previous owner replaced the tachs at some point, don't know why but maybe related to this??

Tachs are notorious for reading high or low. Go with your synchronizer and you will be able to hear and feel when the engines are in sync.

Yep, on my 290 it was always the sync that was most accurate and the tachs were off.

funny, may sync is hit and miss most trips. I typically feather the throttles based on sound and feel. Then while cruising I might look down and the sync is right in the middle.
